Peter Gadeutting my whole love and efforts into French Badminton "I have done all that I could as a player. Now, I am doing all I can as a coach. I love this. I will never get tired of badminton. There are several French players in the world’s top 50. I hope we will have a few in the top 10 in the future, but it will take years.I want to put the right structures in place in France. A lot of changes have to take place, but the players here are very open and committed and that's all that I can hope for.” Other than coaching, Peter Gade has also been keeping himself busy with promotional works with Lin Dan of China, Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat. All four will take part in an exhibition match in Jakarta on Aug 17. "It's just great to hang out with these guys. It’s important that the big stars of the game promote the sport. I don’t know what will happen when Chong Wei and Lin Dan leave after the next Olympic Games(Gives us a good hint about the duo's retirement plan). We need stars to keep the interest in the sport alive and reach out to a bigger audience". "Only Chen Long of China has been consistent now. I hope others like Jan O Jorgensen, K. Srikanth, Kento Momota and Tommy Sugiarto will step up." Source:thestar.com.my/Sport/Badminton/2015/08/10/Peter-Gade-working-with-French-badminton/
Peter Gade is leaving French badminton next year May 1st. Wonder what he has in mind. Coach in HK? Coach in Malaysia? Coach in India?
Shouldn't they at least extend it until the end of May? TUC is just in mid May, I kinda can see them participating in it
Paris just got the Olympics for 2024. In view of that event, the French badminton federation wants to increase its effort to produce competitive professional badminton. Until now, as I understand from the brief interview Gade gave this week (http://www.ffbad.org/actus-19/2017/depart-de-peter-gade-et-jesper-hovgaard) Made and fellow coach Hovgaard were only devoting half of their time to the French federation, going back to Denmark for other activities the rest of the time. The French federation wanted him to be full time but Gave could not do it. I regret it! I hope the French federation will find someone with similar qualification. There might have been a salary issue.
In the French federation website, they say the collaboration was ended on mutual agreement. So perhaps the contract was not formally over.
Peter Gade enters BEC Hall of Fame Date: 4/15/2018 12:04 PM Valamar President Hotel in Dubrovnik sat the stage for the 6th BEC Awards Gala on the eve of April 14th. Danish men’s singles legend Peter Gade entered the BEC Hall of Fame this evening, accompanying Erland Kops, Lene Køppen, Gillian Gilks, Morten Frost and Nora Perry. The former All England champion was unable to attend the gala, but in the ‘Thank you’-video played for the guests at the gala dinner, Gade expressed his gratitude and joy: - I am very honored, I am very proud to achieve this BEC Hall of Fame award. I am very happy to be part of this prestigious club of great, great European players. - There is no doubt that I have been enjoying to represent Europe against all the Asian players, fighting all the Asian players for many, many years. But I have been very happy and very honored to have the support from Badminton Europe. The moderator of the event, former top player Jim Laugesen, presented and received the award on behalf of Gade. Unless Carolina Marin does something extremely inappropriate in public, I'm going to guess she will make the BEC hall of fame, even if she retired tomorrow.
The Trio: Lee Yong Dae, Taufik Hidayat & Peter Gade will join The Legend Vision series in Las Vegas this Sunday (July 22, 2018).
Would Zhang BeiWen be the 4th player since her home base is there? Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
He’s having a live Instagram session atm and I’m annoying him with weird questions like Kento Momota etc. if anyone else is interested tho, join in on his Instagram live.
