Is discussing and giving opinions on this forum considered as shouting out loud? Maybe for you. Be respectful in what you write towards other members. Thanks.

Anyways, great win for SatwikChirag. They now have the confidence that they can compete with top pairs. Though I don't expect them to beat Minions, I would love see a tight match. If they keep perform like this consistently, they could enter into top 5 sooner than later.

    Play hard. Train harder.

There usually many Indian officials in India Open even with Indian players involved.

Are we sure the service judge was from CHN? I didn't pay attention. He could just look Chinese but from other country..

Anywhere we could check the officials in charge for every match?

He was Chinese, during warmup they showed in the screen. And as I said there should be no match officials from the same country as players be it from India, Indonesia, China, Japan or others.

Oh okay then. Just wanted to clarify.

In India it was said they were short of officials from international. But I don't know what the reason here for today.

There’s a heavy criticism that she should only be playing XD. There’s basically no hope to quality for Olympics in WD with her and Puttita considering how dominance other pairs are. Playing both XD and WD definitely hurt and that will affect her performance in XD since other women in Top 10 and the main Top 4 does not play in 2 disciplines like she does.

Momota is not playing well at all today. Quite a good chance for Axelsen.

    the next world tour tournament
it is announced before the coin flip. all chirag has to do is lower it a tad.
yes, because you do not always have enough int'l umpires to go around. it's a volunteer thing and they pay their own expenses and take off time from their normal jobs. how often would you pay your own way to fly half-way around the world to umpire a tournament and be stuck inside for those 12-14 hour 1st & 2nd round days?

the organizers are required by bwf to pay the umpires a per diem (daily allowance) ranging from $40-$50/day, and provide lodging. the referees expenses are paid by bwf, but the host/organizer is still required to pay the refs a per diem also ($80), which is a completely **** move on bwf's part.

there are a couple of tournaments that pay umpires & line judges, but the pay comes from the tournament host/organizer and not bwf.

many times at the bwf tournaments in india i've seen no int'l umpires. what's an organizer to do?

this problem will never be solved until bwf pays umpires. rumor has it they will start to do so on a small scale in 2022 after the current 4 year sponsorship contract ends on 12/31/2021. but, it will only happen for a few tournaments... the highest grades i would assume. i'm wondering exactly which expenses bwf will pay: food? lodging? airfare? daily wage? obviously there's no way bwf will pay for every umpire at every wt level tournament.

can you imagine what the worldwide professional circuit would look like if nobody volunteered to umpire or judge lines or pay to host the tournaments?
