No doubt, he was faulted. But our question is isn't it a rule (I'm asking) that match officials shouldn't be from the same country as of players. There's a possibility Chirag indeed committed a fault. But questions can be asked, no ?
How sure are you that same country umpire cant take sides to their country players ?. I am not saying that this could be. As a whole i dont want BWF to put umpires of same country as of the players taking part in a match of super 750 and above tournaments. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
Its a controversial rule just like amateur Boxing where scoring system has been tweaked and lots of controversies happen in Boxing, wrestling too. BWF should indeed make a rule to review the service fault
When I post that I didn't knew that the service judge was actually from china too. I agree with you on that.
No one is sure and its true Shetty gets faulted but the point is how come the official is from same country to one of the pairs ?
Nahhh, we're saying there is a possibility of biasness. If it would have been an Indian umpire helping Indian pair, then also questions need to be asked. As simple as that. I don't know why you ain't saying anything regarding same country of service judge and Li/Liu
Also the "coincidence" of the fault coming just "in time" breaking the streak of points. Anyways. Think VA stand a chance?
Oh I'm agree on this. But you sounds like Chinese team asked the SJ to fault their opps, read you post again please.
Well when the tournament is being played in China and one of the match officials is chinese, saying/thinking something like that is inevitable specially after all that history. I don't want to go into specifics here.
Not only this match we have SJ from same country I noticed it also yesterday. Yeah perhaps they're sort of staff.
There was a XD match played in 2nd court and none of them are Chinese and I think BWF could have swapped the judges. Poor from tournament officials causing unnecessary controversy. Yes, Chirag is an usual suspect when it comes to service faults but having a same country judge creates a doubt isn't it? Play hard. Train harder.
If that's the case it was wrong too imo. BWF needs to do something in order not to create any more doubts of biasness.
It will be interesting to see if VA will manage to take a game away from KM this time or better win the match.
Yup thinking is fine but need to shout it out loud? What history, KOR history is worse I should say..
I think you should read my post again. I have no opinion whether the judge was biased. I’m saying the mere PERCEPTION of bias is enough to create controversy in the minds of viewers and thus this situation should be avoided at all costs.
