What the hell for, and it's bad for morale if the coach does that? The CHN coaches have already made it clear everyone in the team, young and old, will be given a fair chance to qualify for the Olympics. Lu Guangzu will have to win it on his own merits, if he does not what it takes to go far in the tournament, or any tournament, for that matter, nobody can help him. Atm, LGZ is in 6th position among CHN MS in the Race to Tokyo, a long way to go, still out of the running. Furthermore, if the coaches and CL were to do that, what would the other four ranked above LGZ in the standings think, how would they feel, esp Lin Dan whom you can be dead sure to kick up a storm if he finds out. As for Chen Long, he may have regained quite a fair bit of his past form but the consistency is not fully there yet, I think. However, personally, I'd much prefer to think it's LGZ raising his game another level but he would've to beat Chou Tien Chen tomorrow and, better still, later advance to the final before I'm convinced of that.
For me malaysian pairs playing style are more or less the same, they tend to be defensive...maybe soh/aron are stronger in the defense than goh/tan, don't know.
Wowwz, SatwikChirag beat EndoWata in three games. I have to say today they looked better than the last meeting though it went to the decider.
Yeah, at first i have resigned to the Daddies losing the game, fact that the young gun is playing like a seasoned master. But then, Zhang Nan happened, so all is good in the end. Judging from the scoreline, it seems like a hard fought, competitive game. And the fact that tonight he was playing like chump for the most part of the game, in the end a real legend will show you his true skin. Yupz, what a crazy wrap around the head shot !
Satwik/ chirag should have finished the match in 2 games as they had 2 match points but they squandered it and finished the match in 3 games. Job is not yet finished. Tomorrow they have to fight even harder with 3rd seeds and home darlings li/liu of China.
I'm surprised that the usually solid defence of the Japanese can't handle this fast improving Indian pair. Only KamSon and Minions remain undefeated against this pair now.
It's hard to say because while LiLiu are in poor form these days, they thrive very well with home support and do well under pressure. However, the memories of Thailand Open might haunt them too. So it's really 50-50.
RankiShetty have really arrived on the world stage of badminton, everybody has to take them seriously now.
Satwik/Chirag is making easy for the Minions by beating Endo/Wata. First in French open and now here. Minions should be thankful to Satwik/Chirag Play hard. Train harder.
