Badminton Unlimited | Gym Session - Chou Tien Chen (#2) (Episode 211, January 23, 2018) Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen and his trainer Victoria Kao, to find out more about how players get ready for tournaments. @Fidget Let's hope they give it more...
Wang Tzu Wei may appear to be assisting the coach but I see it as more of the coach teaching him how to analyze the game, esp the opponent's, in a bid to improve his game. Analyzing the game by watching the video later is not the same as thinking on your feet during the game, and that's what players need to do during matches.
If find the serving method of CTC very peculiar since the rule changed regarding service height. I find him hitting the shuttle very low on his services and his body being very straight. I'm aware he is just trying to avoid getting a direct fault on his services but I find it bizarre and not particularly effective. Also he holds his racket very low during play time. We know pros hold their racket lower than amateur and need less preparation time when it comes to overhead strokes but I find CTC holding his racket particularly low.
Congratulations to CTC! Hard work and excellent physical form help to overcome his many problems with focus and shot selection and finally win a big title. His physio is doing great job but may he get some more help from great coach in future.
Echoes my thoughts. But I would also suggest tempering his early celebrations though. I think he is too prone to celebrating too early, which is never a good idea.
https://bwfworldchampionships.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2019/08/16/by-chous-side/ Surprised that CTC prefers to not have a coach. He really knows his own problem and truly believes on himself.
with what he has gone through and prove to us, I would really hope that he will be in the badminton scene for a long time Not only as a player, but also as a coach, maybe even commentator or even badminton critics (maybe we will have it in the future)
Short but good interview of CTC about his early WC exit, his first super 1000 win and how he and his team are working together.
It's a tricky thing. You know Roger Federer didn't have a coach for a significant period of time yet still managed to be at the top. That makes me wonder what really is the definition and function of a coach.
You see not everyone can be like Roger or Lin Dan. Most of the players need coaches to give them added motivation or change of strategy, etc. Some players may need specialised coaching to prosper and others like mature Roger and mature Lin Dan are just a drop in the ocean who can take care of themselves.
I urge Chou Tien Chen to beat Momota today. Let's bring some excitement in the MS world. Thank You, Mr Chou!
