I clicked on the Lin Dan thread and thought I went to the Chen Long thread by accident

Basically everybody just agreed that he won't make it to Tokyo and we got sidetracked on a more interesting topic than discussing whether he'll exit the next tournament in round 1 or 2

If LD sees this post, he will either up the ante or just retire

Not everybody. What's more interesting than discussing LD, except one or two always coming here and said he's over and should have retired bla bla bla... whenever anyone starting a discussion on anything about LD:cool::p

Everyone seems to forget that LD is a clever player, Im sure all those R1 & R2 exits are just a way for him to avoid accumulated fatigue and conserve his energy for the Tokyo OG :p

Yeah and LD seems to forget that R1 & R2 exits won't accumulate points to qualify either. :p
I don't know, after losing in WC he seems to slow down a bit too much.

What it boils down to is he will make it to Tokyo if Chen Long or Shi Yuqi gets injured, which is not good altogether

Only if he gets into the Top16 of the qualifying, which isn't a given if you look at his last results

Him getting into the Top 16 rankings of Olympic qualification is a little more optimistic though if you look at who's above him. Then again, the whole picture altogether isn't, but it's a long road.

生日快乐 林丹. How come I nearly forget today is his birthday :(
Hope you stay injury-free, motivated and enjoy the game as long as you can.

I don't mind whether you could make it to Tokyo. I'm just happy seeing you on court!

A perfect example to teach children not to trust anything online at face value. No author named, no backup or source for the claim (Lin Dan retiring, and retiring specifically at the China Open), and blatant falsehoods. The last time SYQ and CL were ranked 2 and 4 was at the end of July.
As @Baddie lover already stated: speculative clickbait of the worst kind.

Any predictions on how he will fare against Chen Long this time? It's a tough call considering CL has been playing good badminton back to Denmark Open.

If CL can reproduce even 80% of his DO Form its not going to be close. But CL has not exactly been consistently good since....well....2015 so I wouldn't be comfortable betting on that :D
