i see. so do you complete weave/tension the short first? otherwise the flying clamps on the last 2 mains will get in the way of weaving the long side cross.
Pictures, I guess are far more handy I actually prefer to do the crosses with flying clamps... Maybe I'm just weird like that... Starting from here you can do multiple things: 1)You can do the bottom 2 crosses, tie off and do the other side. 2)You can do 2-3 crosses on the long side first, clamp that cross with a flying clamp, and finnish the short side 3) You could do 2 crosses on the short side (clamp with a flying clamp), then finish the long side, re-tension the short side (1-2lbs higher) and tie off
i see. yours is essentially the Haribito professional 22x22 pattern. they start at 8, while you start at 9.

One can also modify this 2-piece pattern a bit by knotting at B10 to avoid long run of string outside the racket. Of course there will be 3 strings through that shared hole but if you pre-weave cross first, it shouldn't be a problem. Cross knotting is then at B6 instead.
Yeah I do this too now. Seems like there will be a lot of slack if I tie off B6. Do people usually weave the cross at B6 and tie-off at B5? I do this but there isn't enough space to fully clamp it, so I end up using a flying clamp to clamp just a bit of it. Not sure if there's any difference in performance. I've also heard people weaving B6 first, then double pull on B8 (Second to last cross), and tie off at B5, which would solve this issue but I haven't tried it yet.
Cross still starts at B8, tie-off at B6. Double pull is normal practice for the first 2 crosses (to somewhat protect the knot) but then you clam at the very beginning of 2nd cross and pull it again as normal.
