So, we're coming up to 2020, and in the last few years it feels like non-Yonex strings have sprung up in popularity. We've been seeing Kizuna, Victor, Ashaway, Li Ning, and Gosen produce some serious and amazing competitors in what was, until recently, heavily dominated by Yonex. We've also seen the trend of hybrid stringing, both officially, and unofficially, and that's created a much wider diversity in string choices and stringing than perhaps a few years ago.

I feel like it'd be interesting to take some stock of what people are using.

    Template:
I'm interested to see where people are at with their stringing choices.

I hate to say how i ended up putting this string on my go to string. At first i did not really like the thud sound produced by the string, however the hard feel (although not as hard feel as BG80) and the control made fell in love with this string. Tension retained pretty well and did not die out fast. Durability of aerosonic cross were surprising. I had plenty of the crosses frayed and the string held up well. [IMG]

Horrible, just horrible lol. But I need to save money, been breaking way too many strings. I'll use anything as long as the string doesn't break :D:D:D

Main Racket: Can't fill this one in tbh. I don't have a fixed racket anymore.
    Stringing type: One Piece
    String(s) used: BG Aersonic
    Stringing Tension: 27/29lbs
Other modifications/Patterns: Haribito Around the World or Victor Standard pattern (depends on which of my 2 regular stringers does it)
How do you feel about your current string choice?
It's great and perfect for injured ol' me. Only shortcoming I've felt so far is that if I go for thicker gauge right now I can literally feel the extra head weight and that can be kinda unplayable to a degree. But I break strings once in a blue moon now so it doesn't really matter.

Rough textured hard feeling GT5 mains with similarly rough slightly softer ZM62F crosses that resist notching. Best combination of telepathic control, effortless repulsion, exquisite touch, and lasting tension retention and durability!

How do you feel about your current string choice? Don't like the huge initial drop from LN1 but I got a reel so have to stick to it for few months. Wanting to try BG-AS once this reel is gone.

Right now using AB but about to move ABBT as I've noticed how hard strings just "speak" to me. Being a long time BG80/85 user I tried to adapt to AB but it just seems like there's too much repulsion and not enough control, despite going pretty high on the tension. The "hard" feedback also isn't there, although it's better than 66um.

Been using LN1 for about 4 years now. IMO the best combination of repulsion power, control and longterm playability that is currently on the market (or at least that I have found yet).

Main Racket: Li-Ning Aeronaut 7000B, might change soon.
Stringing type: Normal Yonex 2 piece.
    String(s) used: LN1 or AS
Stringing Tension: 25lb to 27lbs Square
Other modifications/Patterns: Usually none, might change top knot position depending on how I feel.
How do you feel about your current string choice?
AS feels almost perfect, but I like the feeling of a thicker string after a test with LN5. If I can find a thicker string with repulsion similar to LN1/AS. Next string test Adidas P68?

String(s) used: [If multiple strings, list mains then crosses] VS890 and VBS69C
Stringing Tension: [If different tensions, list mains then crosses] 34-36lb
Other modifications/Patterns: [Haribito, Paizhuan, Top Down, Skip third cross etc. etc.] Looping around A10 on crosses to reduce stress on frame/grommet hole with my high tensions.
How do you feel about your current string choice? Not happy with VS890 anymore. VS890 was and still is the best string I have ever used which I have used exclusively on all my many racquets but the fact that it can break without warning and seemingly spontaneously resulting in 5 crushed racquets so far means I can no longer use this string. I am in the process of finding a replacement, trialing different strings again. So far VBS68C is not bad but a bit dull. I will be trying LN No.1 soon and see how that fairs.

How do you feel about your current string choice? Been using this string for so many years, great repulsion, superb control for slice and netting, nice long ping sound, retain tension really well.

I use and familiar with bg66um to all of my racket and so far still satisfying when the tension below 27lbs (on stringster).

Totally good. With daily play I get about a month before the strings break and with non-regular play I get a long time before they break. I am a front court player so precision is good gives me enough power when I need it. I've been using Lining #1 for a few years now. No complaints!

Coming from BGAS, at first, I was worried about the trade-off. It took a bit for the string to settle, but when it did, it was great. Repulsion didn't drop as much as I expected, and the control more than made up for it. Still have to see more about its lifespan though, as I'm seeing the cross' coating peel off way too fast. Satisfied, but hoping for err, better color variations.

How do you feel about your current string choice? Mostly playing singles with a rather controlled style of play and quite a lot of sliced drops / play at the net. I feel like the BG80 is pretty good for a control player. Repulsion isn't as good as Li Ning #1 but I prefer control over power.

String no1 at least 2-3lbs higher to cover that initial drop
