is there any explanation about AY today's lost? looking very frustrated..so sad. She didnot take shuttle that was too far out of her reach, and most surprisingly, she hit the ball a lot with her backhand which fit AY wouldnot do that.
She is still dealing with the same injury she has been carrying since the WC. Not sure why she didn't withdraw...
I hope she doesn't force herself too much. if not yet fit, it's better to just rest. There are still many big tournaments. NO lose too. I haven't watched the game, many people said about wrong tactics of playing. I hope she's not injured.
It's different for Nozomi, she isn't injured from what I know but surely after the beating she took from PVS at the Worlds her confidence must be at an all time low... plus Carolina Marin is coming back from injury but she is still a solid opponent.
two top Japan WS lost in first round, i dont think the other two have ability to win this tournament. So it's over for their WS.
Re-watched Matsumoto-Nagahara to see why they dropped a set against this fairly average decibel-duo. Same stuff as always - when it get's close towards the end of a game (especially when playing against non-teammates), they melt down. 19-17 up in the second Nagahara with the customary service error and a couple of easy errors afterwards. Some rallies later at 22-22, Matsumoto also with a service error. It's really their saving grace that they play teammates so often in the later stages of tournaments. I doubt they'd be double WCs otherwise.
Is there no update regarding AY's injury? I'm still curious about the decision of Japan coach to let AY play at China Open and whether she will still play at Korean Open later. If the reason is points, I think 1st round points is very small. Is it not better to let her back to Japan and rest well, maybe she can be fit in Denmark and France with bigger points?
1. Can someone tell me which leggings brand that Takeahi Kimura is wearing? 2.Their necklace (Momota, Sonoda, etc) they change from Chrio to what? Thank you
Came to say the same lol MatsuNaga pretty much rode their luck to the WC final with their tougher opponents getting taken out by each other, and then the injury from the the Japanese pair who just defeated them. But if you gonna win only one major tournament, might as well be the WC
Didn't expect ST to progress to SF. She keeps surviving despite NO and AY have been taken down earlier.
Although she usually lost, I always find it quite fun to watch Sayaka Takahashi play. She swings her racket a little bit wildly. A little bit like as if it is a tennis racket. In badminton case, this kind of swing might not always be accurate and where the shuttle lands can be hard to predict. But it can be deadly. Problem is if it turns out to be a winning shot, it can be hard to re create. It is quite impulsive. For me, it is quite fun to watch because by doing this she can have lots of stamina. It is making full use of the racket power. Noticed this in P.chochuwong too. Maybe they play tennis in their free time.
With regard to Kamura's leggings, I am not sure of the exact model, but it will be a YONEX "compression wear" item belonging to the "STB" series. → http://www.yonex.co.jp/badminton/catalog/book1551_sportswear19fw/#target/page_no=85 Momota changes his neckwear regularly; since his comeback, he has been seen wearing Chrio and AXF, and his current pink necklace is a limited edition collaboration between YONEX and Marutaka Pulse (Vx4 x YONEX). It was created especially for the Japan Open, and is probably fairly difficult to get hold of. Regular Marutaka sports neckwear, however, is available at Amazon, Rakuten, Yahoo, etc. for roughly 16,200 JPY.
