Track record of the doctors they use for knee injuries, not very good (Wang Lin, lxr)....I wish they would consult Marin's doctor.

Not sure if it's an embedded culture within the system to be nationalistically proud and confident of their medical advance or the usual secrecy rhetorics but it's a athletes career that it's their responsibility to look after. If this continues they will lose another talent and Chen Yufei becomes ober burdened with expectations as there is really no one worthy left save for the occasional He Bingjiao.

Lei Lanxi is a surprise pick. I’d have thought maybe Ren Pengbo, Weng Hongyan or Liu Haichao.
End of the road for Zhou Zeqi maybe? Lin Guipu would have been a popular choice, given that he needed points to get himself into decent tournaments.

Too bad, Gao Fangjie is taken out of the BATC in Manila, no reason given, maybe CBA or the coaches are unconvinced she's ready yet or capable of performing to expectations at the Asian team event. She's replaced by Zhou Meng.

The final lineup for Team China:-

Men's Team = Lu Guangzu, Sun Feixiang, Li Shifeng, Lei Lanxi, He Jiting, Tan Qiang, Di Zijian, Wang Chang, Liang Weikeng, Shang Yichen.

Women's Team = He Bingjiao, Wang Ziyi, Han Yue, Zhou Meng, Li Wenmei, Zheng Yu, Dong Wenjing, Feng Xueying, Liu Xuanxuan, Xia Yuting.

Notable absentees are Chen Long, Shi Yuqi, Chen Yufei, Li Junhui, Liu Yuchen, Chen Qingchen, Jia Yifan, Han Chengkai, Zhou Haodong.

That means Gao Fangjie's first comeback tournament will have to be the Austrian Open Int'l Challenge in Vienna, 19-22 Feb, 2020.

It's pity, in the day Chen Xiao Xin beat Tai Tzu Ying in her peak, I believe that Chen Xiao Xin can be a star.

Yeah, I happened to catch Gao Fangjie's title bout beating the WJC Riko Gunji in emphatic fashion, was surprised there's livestreaming on zhuafun.tech when Livescore wasn't even available on tournamentsoftware.

In fact, GFJ stormed into the final and lifted the trophy after a bye in R1 to knock out every one of her opponents in two convincing straight sets, going by the scoreline. Along the way, she bested JPN Asuka Takahashi in R2, 21-18 and 21-12, then pushed aside the No.2 seed, KOR Sim Yu Jin, 21-13 and 21-14, in R2, followed by drubbing Goh Jin Wei's conqueror, INA Ruzana Ruzana, 21-9 and 21-13, in the QFs before eliminating another KOR Jeon Jui, 21-8 and 21-17 in the semis, and finally winning the championship in style thrashing JPN Riko Gunji , 21-9, 21-11.

Overall, I'd say it's an encouraging comeback victory that should bode well for Gao Fangjie, albeit a small triumph. Still comprehensively beating Sim Yu Jin , the No.2 seed by that kind of score , 21-13, 21-14, is not to be sneezed at, in my opinion.

What injury did she have? It's a remarkable recovery as she didn't show any restraint. Was she playing in this manner before the injury?. She beat Marin i recall.
What a great performance to emphasise her return!

Local pay TV sports channel had LIVE coverage for semifinal and final and presumably it will LIVE again this week for S100 tour at same venue.

It's good start for the comeback player to win something to revive and invigorate self confidence and feeling competition atmosphere, a string of low tier tournaments have been prepared for Gao to gain ranking point, next month she will participate MAS IS & IC.
