Kim is the most common surname in Korea......Like a lot a lot.

It's possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

No they aren't related! Kim Ji Hyun has coached Sung Ji Hyun for a long time. She has been coach at Korea for a long time and has been extremely successful as coach.

I like KIm Ji Hyun's coaching methods and style of coaching. Hoping more Indian players benefit from her. PV Sindhu is going to take most of her time until the Olympics.

i can't help but  when i see posts/tweets from uninformed and uneducated 'fans'. he found pvs's conditioning routine mysterious? did he think what he saw gives her an edge?

all 'professional' athletes do this. imagine the 1o,000's of athletes you never hear of, those never making the top 500. they're doing it too.

Haha. The guy is a billionaire. He's very passionate towards football, had one club which gave many national team players. I saw his tweet regarding badminton for the first time. But yeahh I get it what you mean.

Can change the passion and the money to badminton! Why not? Let’s face it, getting to the top in football is an arduous process. Why not focus on badminton where you can get more bang for the buck?

Boys and girls can play, so bigger pool of potential players. The sport is well known around the world. Great Indian role models who have been at the top. Inspirational lady singles players. Get Jwala in as a spokesperson and advisor - she’s noisy enough. If you can make her happy , you must be doing a lot of things right. :D

Badminton is an investment in the future. Football is just too expensive and the bar is set very high when you have those well established European training programs. The chances of Indians making a splash on the world stage are far higher for badminton than in football.

P.V. Sindhu now set to strike gold with endorsements
    1 min read.Updated: 27 Aug 2019, 12:48 AM IST Saumya Tewari
    • The ace shuttler’s annual brand fee is likely to double to₹3 crore as she has clinched the badminton world championships
    • Sindhu, with 14 deals worth around₹40 crore in her kitty, endorses a wide variety of brands
Ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu, who became the first Indian to win gold at the BWF World Championships, is expected to witness a surge in her brand endorsement fee and value, said sports marketing executives.

Sindhu’s annual brand fee is expected to double from₹1-1.5 crore to₹3 crore, said Tuhin Mishra, managing director and co-founder of Baseline Ventures, which manages her portfolio.

“Because to this win, there’s a lot of interest, but Sindhu is already the No. 1 woman athlete in India. She has been commanding a certain price because of what she has achieved in the last three years," Mishra said. “We always ensure that her deals complement her personality. Moreover, deal size is also dependent on market dynamics."

Sindhu, with 14 deals worth around₹40 crore in her kitty, endorses a wide variety of brands, including Yonex, JBL, Bridgestone, Moov, Bank of Baroda and Gatorade. In February, she had signed a four-year sponsorship deal worth₹50 crore with Chinese sports brand Li-Ning.

Although some sports marketing executives said the 24-year-old’s current commanding price looks a little inflated, they say that the run-up to the 2020 Olympics will provide a big window of marketing opportunity.

According to ESPN India Edition, Sindhu has equal or created 10 records by winning last week.
1, first Indian female to win gold.
2, limited Okuhara to 14 points, 20 was the previous low.
    3, 21 matches won, Carolina won 20.
4, 5 medals won at the worlds equalling Zhang Ning. Don’t count LD, female only.
    5, one of 4 WS winning G S B.
6, one of 3 reaching 3 consecutive finals in World.
    7, 5 medals in 6 appearances is a record.
8, never lost to a Chinese in World.
9, only one holding medals in Olympic, Asian Games, Commonwealth and of course World.
10, 6 appearances, reaching 6 consecutive quarterfinals, no one has done it before.
Hope her performance will keep up in the Olympic and pushing badminton to a new territory by inspiring more Indians playing the game other than cricket.
