I see 4 didn't someone comment how Ahsan was taller than Marcus and that's why he supposedly has good angles.....?
Congratulations on minions first Sudirman Cup's medal! It is their first, isn't it? lol Kevin was the Indonesian player of the tournament by both Morten (and Gill) And because I am extremely biased therefore I am agreeing 100% with them Marcus was doing great too of course, but when Kevin is in his insane playing mood he just overshadowed everyone else. Finally had the time to watch and analysed a bit of minions matches. Overall, I am pretty happy and impressed with their performances in this tournament. I would say it's their best form in the slow condition so far this year. They have displayed more than enough patience they had lacked in the past few tournaments. No doubt, I am enjoying Kevin's game more and more in slower conditions. Marcus has seemed to do his homework, he varied his attacks more from the back. If he felt that the conditions wasn't right for him, he didn't force himself to smash restlessly but instead mixing drop shots and softer smashes to keep the opponents from predicting his shots. Regarding their match against Kam/Son, I'm glad to see minions had quite a number of lucky net cords on their side Most of minions opponents struggled playing against them here. I suspect the opponents were kind of expecting the same minions that played in BAC was dumbfounded when they found out that their game plans weren't working.
I think a key aspect is also that Marcus avoided jumping too much, as that takes the most effort. Will be interesting to see whether they will be able to keep winning with this more patient approach. Kevin was very deadly in the matches I saw, focused and disciplined in his shot selection.
I'm impressed by the fact that they won so many long rallies in this tournament, usually before this tournament whenever there's a long rally I always have that feeling that they gonna lose the point
I hope they will win more. It should be more effective if they could switch from fast furious to patient or vice versa during a match when they feel necessary since everyone has more or less gotten more familiar with their playing style by now. Looking forward to their next match. Can't believe I have to wait for over a month till their next tournament.
Marcus is already a daddy. Meanwhile, Kevin is still single despite many girls want to be close to him.
Really pleasantly surprised by their performance. Kamura Sonoda really didn’t know what to do despite almost figuring them out previously. It kinda felt like they were playing the strategy the japanese were doing to them in the past, redirecting Sonoda’s flat and poor smashes and keeping him moving before counterattacking. It was great to see
Next tournament INA Open is 2 months from now. Too much time lags for SS. Players will be more prone to injury in Sept-Dec period.
Let's hope that minions can stay in form by then. Their form in SC is great. I want to see them to be in this form for a long time.
Only MD and WD can be proud of their effort. Given 3 Shots, WS and MS cant even get a point against DEN, TPE & JPN..is a disappointment. Not even a game. So Bronze, i dont know, doesnt feel like it. Well, for Minions, they wont be missing SC i guess.
They have always been pretty strong in major team events. Individual events are another different thing though. They survived AG barely last year. We'll see.
Their AG draw is extremely difficult that makes it so worth winning. Against top InoueKaneko at that time, GohTan always tricky, Lee/lee who can beat anyone (LiuZhang at that time) and their teammates in Final which is a worst draw it can be. so its ok if its bare imo.
Yet minions struggled to beat them in AG. Well, it doesn't matter now since minions have evolved further.
