Gideon finally hit a winner from a dropshot love that cross block defense by kevin too

 

They first talked about some of their s**tty serve returns and how the opponents gained confidence the more they made mistakes while minions won easy points. The coach mentioned the ENG pair doing well by making the opponents move from side to side.
The only dangerous thing was when Kevin served, their returns trying to passing through Kevin were too soft.

Then they were talking mostly tactic to keep the shuttle away from Kevin (lift up to the back) etc.

Also at the end, they were also talking about Kevin intercepting very well in front of the net, Ellis was saying that if the shuttle got through Kevin always slapped it down, the coach was "Well, he was taking chances" and Langridge snapped "He was being bold, running and taking a hit on us and for the moment he was like hitting 9 out of 10" lol
Well playing Kevin in his good days is not a field day for the opponents.

(The coach was repeating to Ellis/Langridge that the opponents were playing f###ing good and the ENG pair shouldn't worry about that. I like the coach's attitude )

 

Kevin probably wonders if he might need to wear a helmet from now on

 

Just noticed that Marcus height in his introduction profile yesterday has become 169. So he had grown back his 1 cm during last month? haha
I wonder how they collect the players data for the profile though. Do they measure it before every tournament or just once in a while?

 

I just realised that minions won their match in 40 minutes yesterday, yes 21-9 21-18 in 40 minutes lol. very unusual

 

Probably a slow service from EliisLangridge. I remembered in CO2016 as well. They always did it.

 

Yeah. Quite some long rallies too when minions were just lifting to the ENG pair and just waited patiently till the opponents tired out.
Too slow in between rallies too lol. One time even Marcus got impatient and just snatched the shuttle off the ground under Ellis nose before the latter swooped it up near the net. Ellis was visibly annoyed by it and still stalling the time before he got ready to receive.
Although, I could say there was almost zero drama yesterday, considering the situations.

By playing and winning their match(es) in Sudirman Cup, minions will earn about close to 10k points. Team tournaments ranking calculation will be the average of 10 best tournaments ranking points accumulation in the last 52 weeks.
Their world ranking points, if my calculation is correct, by next week will be 99,560. They should get 9956 points for their first Tokyo qualification and their next week's world ranking points after SC will be 101,106 points.

Will players get points too if they lose the match or as long as they are listed in the team?

As long as you get to play, you will earn points.

 

Will their Thomas Cup points be included in the 10 best tournaments? I calculated the points excluding TC.
If TC included then minions will earn about 10,168 points.

Should be 2014 when he Beat ZN ZYL at IO. That should be his last XD tournament

 

No he played XD in AE 2015 with greysia polli. I still remember that match against the adcocks because kevin was acting like he didn't want to be on court that time.
