So it's two titles in a row for Watanabe and Kawakami, after the Orleans Masters. Watanabe's play is very sound, but he's fairly short for a MS, I wonder what is his ceiling. Maybe Kawakami is coming back after a tough 2018.
Yep, until Obayashi's legs gave way in G3, Watanabe's smashes failed to dent the former's armour. Watanabe's footwork is smooth and swift, and he has excellent shot variation ... but at 1.66 m (and 62 kg), he is clearly disadvantaged. And the same goes for Koga Minoru.
Because in April 2016 the fact that he had frequented illegal, yakuza-connected casinos in Japan was exposed. And, not only was he a regular client, he also invited quite a large number of other players (in particular NTT-East juniors, such as Momota) along. This incident caused an uproar in Japan, and the NBA moved swiftly and strictly in an attempt to contain any further damage in the run-up to the Rio Olympics. Whilst Momota's "indefinite suspension from competition" was lifted in May 2017, Tago remains "indefinitely de-registered". The NBA has obviously seen fit to let him rot.
I see the situation that Momota lost to Christie and Lin Dan won title in Malaysia Open is a good thing. Now, people doesn't focus on Momota too much. It reminds people (other players/coaches) that there is not only Momota but also Chen Long/Lin Dan/Shi Yuqi/Christie/Ginting/Kidambi/Viktor,... can win title.
The Vietnam International Challenge is turning out to be another smack in the face for the NBA. The NBA-sponsored MS delegation, comprising Shimono, Koga, Obayashi, and Omoto Shota, all hit the dust by R3. And guess who we have left? ... Self-financed Naraoka Kodai, who is being coached, not by Masuda Keita, but by Papa Naraoka. He really deserves to be reinstated as a national team member.
i Just realise that there are only two men will be chosen for Sudirman cup and Tsuneyama is right after Nishimoto on ranking table. If Tsuneyama can go far in Asia champion ship and Nishimoto loses at first round, then Tsuneyama will be chosen as the second men's single player. ^-^ I don't hate Tsuneyama but I hope Nishimoto doesn't miss this tournament.
The team isn't obligated to maxed out 20 slots. In fact, it's rare for a team to do so. The team can't just do that just for the sake of it. Cost and the player's reliability are the factors for the team's lineup.
They should put all the player on the photo, only WS has 2 representatives. IMO its's not fair for other WD, especially MatsuNaga, they're in the better form than the other on the photo now and i think they will go up to rank 1st in no time.
^-^ yeah, it's lucky because after Asia championship tournament, Tsuneyama can surpass Nishimoto to become the second choice of Japan. So it's lucky that the team make a choice right this week ^-^
Ooch, I know that Nishimoto haven't won a tour but he has bronze medal at Asia game 2018 at least. ^-^ that can be considered as a star.
