Grommets are in the frame not on the outside? Guess it could mean zf2.

Based on this. This is definitely a ZF2. But the racket he threw to the fan after he won, it’s an Astrox.
Throwing to the fans some racket he doesn’t want? Guess so?

Maybe he did test out the astrox in the initial matches but switched back to his trusted ZF2 in the finals.

this is photo from Malaysian Open tho?

there are pics from Malaysian Open with him using the energy boost frame ie possibly AX99

if this pic was from the Malaysian Open final

maybe he switched to the old trusty ZF2 in the second game onwards and he played soo well so that was what made up his mind to stick with ZF2 and throw away his Astrox LDF painted frame.

    hhmmmm

Well all the photos compiled so far points to the fact that he was using both an Astrox and a ZFII at the competition

I'm guessing we need to find more clear pics of him playing before the finals. Note the blue and green tapes on the shaft near the frame head.

I have noticed he played with the green stripe sticker at All England and then the Blue stripe sticker frame from that point onwards.

Green one that was thrown into crowd is AX99

Blue is his old trust ZF2

thats what ive noticed from pics.

Must be hard tho switching and checking all those strips and rackets. “Oh darn, I was supposed to play with red but this is blue. No wonder I lost that point”

Later one is definitely the ZF2.

And good god he still has those lead tapes on the 99. **** sake man.

Im pretty confident that the racket is Voltric LD Force Matte Black....used to have this racket before switched to astrox 88d...
88D is more sensational for me.

I don't think that this is a Voltric LD Force Matte Black, the shape seems to be the one of VZFII, it's a little bit narrow.

He's been using a zf2 repainted as a LDF matte black for years. Just look at the head shape, it's clearly a compact head.

    I totally agree with you.
i think it's similar to LCW when he last competed at Malaysia Open.
LCW was changing his rackets between Astrox99 and ZF.

perhaps Yonex is trying their best to get them change to the latest models. :)

Tan Boon Heong has switched to Li Ning :O (found out via fan cam of the ongoing Vietnam tournament)

    Anyone know what he's using?
