Unless one of them is injured, I don't think CHN will ask any them to withdraw...

For the first time in over a year that we don't have Japanese WD in semi-final, as they've have been very dominant in the 18 months, all Chinese WD, MS and XD.

China seems to peaking at the right time for 2020 Olympics in Japan, who must be scratching their head as to how none of their WD are in the semis. Lin Dan at the age 35 or is it 36 is still marching on and reached the 750 tour final and no doubt hungry for the next Olympic.

The biggest disappointment is Denmark, apart from Victor they don't have any player who goes past 3rd round. Malaysia is another disappointment as they do not not have top players, ever since LCD, the veteran player, left the scene. Thailand is doing very well, they had many players in all disciplines advancing in quarter finals.

Nope, Zhang Jun and Xia Xuanze have already made it clear they will give every player or pair a fair chance to play the requisite tournaments during the OG qualification cycle and earn their Olympic spots according to their own merits, that includes Lin Dan and Li Xuerui.

Who is LCD? If you mean LCW, he has not left, just not ready for this tournament after cancer.

I think Lin Dan will be fourth best Chinese player by end of 2019, Lu Guangzu looked very impressive against Axelsen earlier this week.

Alfian/Ardianto lost again to the Kamura/Sonoda come on.... this JPN pair can’t compete with Hendra/Ahsan and the Minions. However, somehow Alfian/Ardianto can’t beat them.. huh

Minions' 7-4 Head-to-Head and Hendra/Ahsan 3-1 proves that Kamura/Sonoda is likely to lose vs. the INA's championship caliber pairs.

CHN has such a brilliant long term planning and vision. They revamped the entire women team after previous Olympic, building up young talents and timing them to peak ahead of Olympic year.

That's not even their last meeting. Minions won the last two meetings. Both of them are finals in Denmark Open and Hongkong Open.

Ah, I forgot about that. And that's impressive from minions after being defeated not too long ago and they were supposedly not at their best form.

Yeah true. seems like minions really know how to play kam/son since the lost at the WC, they won the last three meetings with pretty convincing score line (all in straight game).
