So it's a week before my tdcaa tournament and for some reason I feel like I'm not getting enough power on my racket (Li Ning N90 III) so I decided to restring it with bg80 at 25lbs and yes my smash did improve (based on my coach) but it feels like it's still not powerful enough so I decided to add 5 KT tapes on my racket head making the balance point about 320+ mm and now my arm and shoulder started hurting and also if I smash I can feel the racket bend at almost 70 degree angle So my question is how bad is this change prior to the fact that my tournament is in about 3 days? Oh and any tips to calm my nerves at the tournament becuz I tend to feel cold af during the tournament Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
What you want in a tournament in constancy. If you don't feel comfortable with your new setup, I suggest you wait until after the tournament to change anything. I feel that 25lbs is a bit high for nylon shuttles, but that's my opinion.
Ok so I knocked it down to 2 KT tapes and I'm pretty much comfortable with it I swing faster and harden than when I added 5 KT tapes and when I didn't have any As of for the string tension the thing was my smash were more like slice shots and I think with 25 it feels more like a smash now What would be some good ways to shake my nerves though cuz like I said my hands feels like ice every time I think about the tournament... The first ones can be though with a crowd watching you and all the extra noise; you'll become more at ease as you do more tournaments. I find that bringing someone or going to a tournament with friends helps as you can talk about something other than badminton between the matches. Avoid overly negative people! Good luck!
compete with what you train with. if you change the weight and balance now, you won't have enough time to get used to it.
Last question would it be bad if I were to train the day before the tournament? Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
