Yeah, it's true that we need to give him the space and time required for his recovery.

So far so good. We're happy to hear about his recovery in a good progress.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed and holding my breath.Perhaps Lee CW and his coaches thought it best for him to make a comeback at the start of the OG cycle in May, with the added element of surprise to boot.

    Let's wait and see.

BWF needs to award LCW a wildcard to play in this years WC. LCW missed WC 2018 because of really unfortunate circumstances. He is getting old, 2019 may be his last chance to play in a WC again. As a predecent LD recieved a wildcard to attend 2013 WC after his ranking was too low to qualify due to the reason that he took a holiday and did not play.

In comparison, I think having cancer really is a much better reason to not play tournaments and keep your ranking up....would be wildly unjust if they denied him a wildcard imop

Is it upto the National Federation where the WC is held to give the wildcard or BWF? As 2013 WC was held in China and LD was given a wildcard entry. Yeahh, LCW should be given a wildcard entry absolutely.

BWF. Host Nation has no privileges like that, would be a huge conflict of interest obviously.

I agree it should be a good enough reason for a wildcard but I doubt he would be in any form to challenge anyone in the top 10 anyway. When he came back from his 8-month ban his form was understandably not great and that was with continuous training. So for him not to play at all for such a long time, it's going to take far longer for him to get his old form back - assuming he can. So for me, I'd just be glad to see him come back and play and start his climb again, no expectations to compete for titles.

What does that mean? Are you saying LCW has not done enough for the sport already?

I think he means to call LCW to make a comeback soon.

If he's able to get back to even 75% of his previous level of performance, qualifications should be a piece of cake as he's still most likely guaranteed to nab 1 of the 2 Olympic spots for MAS.

OG gold on the other hand, I'll give him odds of 1:10000.
