You said 'Major'. What do you mean by Major and how come Tai tzu ying comes into picture. She did not win World or Olympics. yeah, she won Super series finals which Sindhu also did.

Okuhara has good attacking shots? What? And your contradictory statement afterwards -"ofcourse her size limits smash effectiveness". lol

Sindhu , Ratchanok, Tai tzu ying , Saina, Marin and even Akane (seeing her victory over Tai in the french open finals) comes into my picture but not Nozomi okuhara.

All the above can hit winners .

    FINAL (01.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...39CF17-112E-4664-829D-24650DAF4096&d=20190127

Host Indonesia has assured men's doubles crown and expecting mixed doubles title. Japan has two representatives, followed by CHN, DEN, ESP, IND, KOR with one each.

WD, Kim So Yeong/Kong Hee Yong (KOR) v Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (JPN)
    H-2-H : 0-1 / WR : 50 v 2
A long duration as usual for women’s doubles showdown, Polii/Rahayu blow their chance in opening game, leading 18-11, 19-15 then lost 20-22. They make good comeback in second with identical scoreline, 22-20 but falter in third game, run out of steam to balance Matsutomo/Takahashi, 12-21 in 80 minutes of play. Similar pattern also hampering World Champion Matsumoto/Nagahara into final spot as they can't manage healthy lead and convert three match point, 20-17 as Koreans Kim SY/Kong HY bring the nightmare to score five consecutive points and force deciding game, 20-22. The momentum shifts to Kim/Kong to seal the match, 21-16. The Olympic Champions have slight advantage to defend their title here, won their only one previous meeting in rubber games.

MS, Kento Momota (JPN) v Anders Antonsen (DEN)
    H-2-H : 3-0 / WR : 1 v 20
Same old story for Viktor Axelsen who can’t break Kento Momota scintillating feat, the interesting part in opening game when Axelsen closes the gap from down 10-16 to grab five consecutive points and reduce deficit but then Momota is back to control the game and locks Axelsen in 21-15. In second game, former World Champion is mentally crumbled as Momota is coming to perfection in netshot, superb defense, court coverage and counter attack, the Danish number one succumbs awfully, 4-21. Earlier on the evening, Jonatan Christie can’t repeat his Asian Games heroic episode, taking good lead in first game, 11-7, 16-12 then slowly but sure Anders Antonsen catching up to implement his gameplan that troubling the Indonesian who's puzzled to guess Antonsen shot due to unfamiliarity, credit to Antonsen mental strength to beat Christie in front of his homeground fans, a fully-packed stadium. Kento Momota is overwhelming favourite to pocket INA Masters title, the Japanese looks return on top after first round shocking defeat last week in Kuala Lumpur.

MD, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (INA) v Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan (INA)
    H-2-H : 5-2 / WR : 1 v 8
All Indonesian finals for men’s doubles juggernaut, Indonesia. The Minions are doing their routine, marching to another final in BWF World Tour circuit and will take on senior compatriots, Ahsan/Setiawan, third fellow countrymen along this tournament after second round and quarterfinal stage. Gideon/Sukamuljo have little problem to dispose Denmark pair Astrup/Rasmussen while two-time World Champion show their masterful display to outplay future stars Han CK/Zhou HD, third Chinese opponents in a row after Ou/Ren and Li/Liu previously.

WS, Saina Nehwal (IND) v Carolina Marin (ESP)
    H-2-H : 5-6 / WR : 9 v 4
WS semifinal presented exciting clashes, the more experienced and established player secure their final berth. Saina Nehwal won over He Bingjiao in decisive moment, He turns the table in opening game successfully, coming from behind, 7-12 / 10-16 to 21-18. But the lefthander Chinese is doing her erratic habit, too many uncharacteristic mistake in second and third game including crucial stage. A more thrilling encounter is served by last match in semifinal day when Chen Yufei saves seven match points in decider despite trailing badly but at the end it's reigning World Champion succeeds as Chen fails to retrieve her opponent hard smash. A repetition of last week semifinal, Carolina Marin once again is favoured to overcome Saina Nehwal with her quick game, intercept the rally, moving forward to take initiative to attack unless Nehwal has magic formula to change strategy this time.

XD, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong (CHN) v Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (INA)
    H-2-H : 3-1 / WR : 1 v 4
An ideal arrangement, a farewell match to close final day. Home favourite Ahmad/Natsir or nickname “Owi/Butet” by their local fans will challenge world number one and reigning world champion Zheng SW/Huang YQ, rematch of last year final. The Olympic Champs have unconvincing start against Chan PS/Goh LY but still manage crucial opening game 22-20 and running smoothly in the second to take 21-11. Current World’s best mixed combination Zheng/Huang look lethargic at the beginning before the Chinese found their fine tune to bulldoze Watanabe/Higashino with their fast furious attack simultaneously at front and back area, 11-21 / 21-14 / 21-11. Will the Indonesians deliver title as the gift for Natsir last performance?

Exactly..! He or She must be a PVS hater for sure lolz..I wonder how on earth TTY comes as a MAJOR winner if theres anyone who is eligible to be a Major Queen thats PVS she has played Consecutive Majors and regardless of the result After LCW she is the only player on earth to have 3 CONSECUTIVE *MAJOR* SILVERS ( RIO,WC 2017,WC 2018) Besides Im not even counting 2018(CWG and AG) cause thats not BWF and it didnt have CM.

So Im sorry to break his or her heart but TTY just doesnt deserve the major winner TITTLE for she hasnt even reached OG or WC Finals yet let alone winning it.

Doesnt really matter, TTY is better player than LXR especially if she can last longer at the top.

I think WYH, TTY, CM and SN is top 4 of this decade.

Any day TTY skills better than PV sindhu and Saina. Achievement wise Marin had won 3 WC gold medal and olympic gold which is not possible for anyone to break in near future. Its a shame when someone put TTY below saina n PV sindhu. TTY easily the most skillful player ever. Well TTY still has a chance to win WC this year and olympic 2020. She is not too old as Saina.

Thousand SS titles does not equals a WC medal or Olympics medal.

Hope she get one this year in WC this year.

I want to know will the confetti drop after the match if Zheng/Huang wins?

I remember when minions beat InoueKaneko in IndonesiaOpen, the confetti pops immediately after the match...

Not really though.. Probably different meaning but do people remember that Daren Liew won a medal in last year WC? The medal is only worth it if he wins enough SS, imo.

I think people can still remember Daren's bronze because it was just last year. How about Nguyen Tien Minh and Tommy's bronze WC medal few years ago? Did anyone remember these achievements?

No matter how many medals TTY can or cannot win, I am sure she will have a special place between the other legends (medal winners).
She is too skillful to not be considered one of the greatest though might not be as ambitious as the other players such as CM, PVS, NO or others.

I am more disappointed that they didn't have any video of Zhang Nan/Zhou Yunlei in the tribute video..
