In the semi-final match between SYQ and SV, my opinion is that even if SYQ's racket had gone over the net in the slightest of instance, SV still lacks the pedigree of a top player at this stage of his career, and therefore not deserving of victory per se due to the following reasons:

    1. The 'faulty' point in question wasn't match nor game point and not 100% deterministic. It wasn't the 3rd deciding set and should not be earth-shattering for SV if he is truly deserving.

    2. SV lacks the will, tenacity and experience of a top player at this point of his career to get over any (minor) setback and come back to win the 3rd set and the match.

    3. SV is still a surprise element in that most players have not studied his game closely to uncover his weaknesses. When other players become mentally prepared and more determined against a top player, the pressure would often be a burden on the top players. Without any burden of expectation and pressure, SV actually had the opportunity of playing freely with the addition motivation of upsetting SYQ and the Chinese audience in China. Yet he failed to snatch victory to an off-colored and awkward SYQ is telling that SV is still somewhat lacking at this point of his career.

    4. KM convincingly beat SV 21-18, 21-6 on Wednesday in 35 mins; although fans can take some comfort in the 1st set's 21-18 scoreline to an extent.

Sudhirman Cup?. Then you are in the wrong thread.

Let us just focus on badminton.

What?. He is well deserved to be in the finals if he had won it.

Even though Shi yuqi is a top player, his h2h against many top ten players is very negative.

Yesterday, Shi yuqi was lucky enough.

All of your post is just useless. It is not you to say who is deserved to be in the final or not, players themselves.

The players worked hard to reached this level. SV lost to Kento . So what?. Everybody lost to him . But he is also the one who defeated kento this year.

Let us focus on Badminton. Nobody can decide whether SV is deserved or not. He played well. He reached this level. I can clearly say , he is well deserved for top 10 players. He will soon reach it.

Since there is an ongoing debate about whether SYQ racket had gone over the net or not. It piqued my interest to see it by myself. There was an image posted saying that the image is the frame where SYQ racket going the furthest. After looking at it myself I can say that the claim is false, that's not the correct frame for the claim. Actually, if SYQ let the shuttle be it won't even cross the net.

Its Okuhara that won the WC but i feel like its Sindhu who already won it, the way people talk about her as well. She has better selling point than Okuhara.

I d rather be Sindhu than Okuhara with all those endorsements.

I think Okuhara is always like that, so slow to return shuttle getting more like sung jihyun. is she like that today? usually she is like that when i watch her play especially later stages.
