See ... Just 1 title for Jonatan doesnt make him better than AG. You need to be consistent and beat top players over and over again.

Thanks...Im Proud of Indians,Danish and Malaysian people who shower love and respect their Badminton Legends even being Silver and bronze medalists and most importantly shower then wih jobs and money.

Unfortunate and sad for Ardi Waranta,Susanto,Kuncoro,Eddy and rudy and Kristin the hard work they did and earned laurels for a country so slefish that they dont even wanna appreciate and remember them.

Kudos to Denmark,India,Malaysia and all other Badminton countries who respect love support and remember all their Major medalists for their hard work sweat and blood.

Oh no as per RoRa in Indonesia his country,You just win a single Major Gold thats enough for Indonesians to count you as a legend the best even if you never win any other tournament so ASG would have to win this tournament or Poor boy would be forgotten :D

Lol that's not how u actually see it.

comparing India and Indonesia in badminton is like comparing Croatia and Brazil in football. become runner up in world cup is a really big deal for croatia they did it maybe once in 20-30 years. but for brazil, become runner up is just another miserable year they won it 5 times already.

thats the same as the badminton we won too much gold medal. so, at least u can be as good as those people u re not gonna remembered.

its like indonesia have indonesian pele who sets the bar for great players. but its unfortunate actually when ure thinking about how hard the players work

but, it is changing now in Indonesia as well

It used to be the case, partially it is because the coverage was rather low in Indonesian citizen as well

As the economic grows and people start to become smarter, and more attention given to sports
    The mindset starts to change

But of course, it still takes time until it becomes a common norm to appreciate athletes at various level

well I don't really think it works that way, no matter which country of course the gold medalist will be more respected and remembered, I mean people will remember LCW compared to GVS/TWK because of his effort and his 3 silver medals, and as we can see from this forum a lot of malaysians also bad mouth and said bad thing about GVS/TWK when they lost saying they are incapable, etc. So I guess its back to the player themselves to be remembered.

Another example is a lot of Indonesian people know and remember Ginting and Fajar/Rian because of their effort at AG even though they didn't win the AG.

    and yeah,

you also should not compare India to Indonesia. It is not comparable in terms of badminton

Badminton has become a glory point for Indonesia, not for India
Expectation is much higher in Indonesia than in India

    I would say,
Sindhu is still not gonna be respected that much if the achievement of Gopichand can be repeated multiple times by other Indian athletes

Does the players in kabbadi is remembered much by Indian? I don't think so
