    Agree
    I had 3u 88D & 2u D10. 88D is faster.
    Also had 4u 88D, & tried 3u D10., IMO, 3u D10 is marginally faster.

Maybe it is just personal preference/compatibility then.

To me the D10 feels dull and a bit sluggish. But the AX88D feels so alive and fast.

My defense is waaaay better with the AX88D.

On clip smashes the AX88D is a clear winner in terms of power I generate. It should have been more difficult to do clip smashes if it was only the HH aspect of it as I can't do the same kind of clip smashes with the VTZF2 3U, it hurts my hand, while the D10 does not produce enough power.

As I mentioned in another post, the AX88D 3U to me feels as fast as my Apacs 722 6U.

All I needed in the AX88D for it to be even better is a little bit more flexibility. But the AX99 seems too heavy based on the reviews.

Mmm I see the discrepancy now. Definitely compatability issue. Especially in shaft stiffness. You're probably overcoming the Duora10 just enough for the difference to show so obviously for yourself.

    I don't know, I don't have strong arms and I'm skinny though.

Or maybe because both the VTZF2 and the D10 were G4 and the AX88D is G5?? But would only 1 size in grip make that much of a difference?

Yes grip size can make a huge impact sometimes. Your physical build is not a good measure honestly. If that's the case LCW should be using a super floppy racket lmao. It's all about your technique.

Just to add to this , I have shifted my grip setup from full synthetic grip on my DZS to half towel on the DZS ala. Lin Dan style . The point was not to emulate him but ensure I use the grip from lowest part of handle. The result was that I started to get lot more power from DZS and feel it bend ... I do feel grip setup does play a big part in how effective you are with your racket.

Sure , I will add my review as soon as I get it . Right now , it is with person who is coming from SG . Unfortunately, we don't get 3u in India easily and this racket is no exception.

Nice, looks like the AX99 is going to be my first 4u racket!

Interested in this AX99 racket but not in the rush to grab one soon.
I will be waiting for more review especially with comparison to DZS.

    This evening i managed to dry swing both AX99 3U & 4U.
It seems like the side swing of AX99 is not as fast as DZS.
Hopefully, i can find something to motivate me to make the purchase.

I think the namd definitely is doing something here. It's probably much stiffer on the short compact swings but the extra namd allows more flex (which is what I felt when I flexed it by hand).

All I can say is, they've done a really good job with the AX series and it's essentially replacing the VT series as you probably can find a direct upgrade to every racquet there now, except for zf2. So far, nothing replicates the feeling I get with the zf2.

A few people (even more experienced players than me) have said that my AX88D is too heavy etc. And it is definitely not the case for me especially with my uninjured hand. All i'd wish in the AX99 if it was to be an upgrade of my AX88D would be slightly more flex on fast swings for more power, which is what you have described.

Similar situation with a number of you here. Been using ZF2 3U for about a year now, mostly stringing with BG80, BG66Ux at around 30lbs.
For some reason I went ahead to buy the Astrox 88D 3U but didn't like it and sold it. I can't explain the experience, might be because I'm not used to the bigger head. Smashes were not consistently as powerful as ZF2, but there were moments where it was great.
I've pre-ordered Astrox 99 3U and from what I'm reading, it's really head heavy. Anyways, I'm looking forward to it and hoping it will be a ZF2 replacement. Will be getting it on Saturday and probably stringing it up with BG66Ux at about 30lbs again. We'll see

Please let us know your thoughts. From my experience it's definitely not a zf2 replacement still.
