LD and Chen Long played in the team matches in 2014. Despite the fact that they played in the team matches, LD and Chen Long gave us one of the best MS finals, at the highest level ever played in badminton, in 2014. Chen Long was at his peak in 2014 (he had just won the WC) and LD was still at the tail end of his prime in 2014 and their match in the finals was amazing.

Without a doubt, the 2014 Asian Games version of LD or Chen Long would have whooped either Jonathan or CTC this year.

Oh come on don't be too kind now. Any version of LD or CL would have whooped either JC or CTC this year.

For me, WC > AG. But AG is the second most prestigious badminton tournament this year, after the WC.

Although the AG is rare because it only happens once every 4 years, it is missing the top European players. For example, would TTY beat CM? We know from the WC that CM is the best in the world, not TTY. Because AG is missing the top European players, I consider WC to be more prestigious. However, IMO, it's close.

Everybody has their opinions though. If you think AG > WC, that is your opinion so all the more power to you.

No, not this year's version of LD and CL. LD is past his prime now. LD is old, but for whatever reason, he can't keep his fitness and speed the way LCW has. I think LD is on the verge of retiring and unless there is a major injury to Shi Yuqi or CL, LD won't make it to the 2020 Olympics.

I thought CL was just out of form but that he could reach his former 2016 Olympic form if he put in the training. From what I see, I'm not so sure CL can reach his previous form again. CL is only 29 years old so I can't say he is too old for badminton, but for whatever reason, he can't play to the level that he did from 2013 to 2016. CL could be past his prime too but we'll know more with one more year on the circuit.

Yes, it is opinion. Thus, it is not fact and can't be objectively measured. Keep it that way and everything will be fine.

LD beat JC in the New Zealand final and CL beat JC in the team event.
No so sure about how they would fare against CTC but seeing how nervous he was in the match, LD or CL might have won it.
But this is just theoretical :D
My bitter resentment for LD not being fielded or able to play at all (not needed in team event even once), ZN made sure of it.

Best match of AG individual event, credit to both pairs who have entertained us!

Indeed, their seniors have more experienced and advantage in mental department.

In badminton medal tally, China secures top position (3 golds, 1 silver, 2 bronzes), followed by Indonesia (2, 2, 4), Japan (1, 1, 4), Chinese Taipei (1, 1, 2). Indian won 1 silver & 1 bronze, Hong Kong 1 silver and Thailand with 1 bronze.

Unfortunate Again. Sindhu won Silver again.
How many Silvers is already written in her career, we don't know. But I feel sorry for her. She deserves atleast one gold before her career ends. Hope she work even harder to defeat Tai Tzu ying. Because she does not have any problem in defeating any other player in the world, except Tai tzu ying at present. So, hope one day, her wish is fulfilled.

Yes, and the problem is the ticket all sold out with that price haha, I think they can sell 10.000 more tickets at that price without any issue lol

He mentioned both LD and CL version 2014 could have beaten JC or CTC in the final this year :D I supposed because LD and CL were the finalists last time.
