Well, first Marcus has to step up otherwise Kevin's errors won't decrease. Trust me.

Yeah and I wonder why. Is the biggest tournament of that sport supposed to have at least prize money, not just medals?

Yeah but I thought in AE Marcus was really in good form. Kevin covered much less than he usually does. Now, he is all over the court again because Marcus (could) not move as much.

Very healthy rivalry between Kevin & LILiu. They are of the same generations. I think its more of LiLiu of not having anymore nightmares. Is it even now? Still KevinGideon is more consistent pairs and have more titles. To be the best , you need to win consistently..

yeah that surely didn't help. im just saying, generally, even with marcus playing great...a lot of time he still making those unnecessary unforced error, surely need to work on that. oh and please, improve your defensive skill as well kevin.

Indeed, bad ending for Kamura/Sonoda who eliminated hot-fave The Minions in quarterfinal. Li/Liu are so well determined and prepared in final to smash the Japanese in opening game and delivering entertaining second game to grab 5 consecutive points and become 4th Chinese MD pair to be world champion.

Women's doubles is the most closest match of final day, Matsumoto/Nagahara surprised their older teammates, Fukushima/Hirota who once again repeat last year result, ended as runner-up. No wonder they're crying and very disappointed when leading 20-18 but couldn't seal the tie. Mixed doubles is quite predictable, Zheng Siwei claims WChampionships crown with Huang Yaqiong to redeem his last year final defeat to Ahmad/Natsir. Wang YL/Huang DP did their best to force rubber games but failed to deliver at critical points.

In singles category, Carolina Marin creates history to be first WS to win gold medal in world championships history. Marin on her element to prove she has major event material. Sindhu applies right strategy until mid first game, Marin comeback shifted the momentum and sadly it's one way traffic in second game as the Spaniard injected the pace to attack aggressively and conquered her opponent.

An anticlimactic final match is men's singles for sure. Kento Momota is too superior and nails world champion title effortlessly even he didn't celebrate too much as the final clash is going very smoothly favours to him. Shi Yuqi delivers many free points to his opponent, definitely indicating under pressure and mental weakness. China makes blunder this time "to let" Lin Dan and Chen Long paving the way for younger compatriot in prestigious event at their homeground, even Chen Long looks gloomy and really unhappy when stood at the podium. Just big question whether Shi Yuqi would be one of the world beater in future years if he couldn't fix mental department.

I know what you mean. Well maybe he is just very very bad at basic shots lol. As Steen always said he is allowed to make mistakes as long as he could make more winners and I could live with that.:p I also noticed that even when he hit basic shots, he always tried to add some spins to it hence the errors. Sometimes when he succeeded, the opponents would mistime or mishit the return and points for him. Hopefully he could master his shots better so he could make much less errors.

Still expecting and hoping to see them regain their AE form or even much better than that.:)

This is what competition is all about. Imagine how crushing it will be if Minions were to play and beat Li/Liu in Final @ Nanjing ? Life is fair.

Its TaiTzuYing that will feel life is unfair. Marin 3 WC titles? lolz

I feel the same like she must be feeling so awful and atleast AY and HBJ gave their best and won their medals...but the world No.1 without any WC Medals :(

Besides even PVS must be upset win a silver but at least she has some comfort given the fact that she has 4 WC Medals ....now TTY better up her game or she might lose another WC next year or who knoes may be Olympic too.:(

The sort that won without facing the best opposition, TBH.

    KM not participating.
Danes not up to speed due to injuries.
    Other CHN players, well....

I'm sorry to say this, but he got that title a bit cheap.

However, no one can take the win away from him. And everyone else who participated would have given their first born to lift the trophy, so it's still a fantastic achievement.
