Watch on TV bro.... things are just too ex in SG
Tickets prices are crazy.... think sooner or later will kill the sport...and there is a big Hoo ha in the Football fraternity about a certain talent.
Sooner or later... there will be no sportsman left in SG..

Benjamin Davies. I support his deferment application due to these 2 reasons.
    1. Fulham is playing in the EPL, not Championship Division. Fulham might not be a top team compared to the likes of Manchester United/City, but it is still a huge jump from the S-league or M-league.
    2. Football is a team sports hence u can't use the reason that he cannot bring glory to SG. it is easier or chances is higher for an individual to win a medal in major international event, than a team. given the popularity of football, he will help to inspire the boys and show locals can also dream of playing in a top european league.

I still remember back in 1990s when I watched Singapore open in Indoor stadium for free for early round.
There was even a men-only asian team championship.
Even the final tickets were cheap.

So either badminton is very popular now compared to last time or inflation is that bad

Did you watch in the old non-aircon Singapore Badminton Stadium or the new, very comfortable SIS where the SO is now held?

Simple inflation will push costs up over the years, no matter where you stay. More so in Singapore where infrastructure and other improvements are necessary to maintain it as a city of some standing.

If organisers want to increase the prize money and make things better like security and manpower, cost will increase inevitably.
Unfortunately, it was reported recently that while wages went up, productivity did not match up.

Unfortunately, one must expect the price to increase in the future.

I watched in aircon Singapore Indoor Stadium at Kallang

I know the non-aircon courts near Eunos mrt. Those are usually for the junior event, not Singapore open before it move to Woodlands
I once trained with SBA too. Very short period

Rather disappointed with the players lineup at this year's Singapore Open. Did not see much A list players.

Iirc, Singapore Open is a SS level tournament but it gelt more like a GPG this year.....

    Yes many are disappointed too.

However it gave an opportunity for the lesser known players a chance to compete at a reasonably high level.

Yes. I now watched the Indonesian open every year. Ticket price is rising too and I actually enjoy watching junior event rather than the senior event but I think I need to contribute to the players welfare by supporting the event.

I have bought the Asian Games ticket too. The most expensive ticket ever but well, it is probably once in my lifetime Asian Games is near to where I am and no need to buy flight ticket to watch it.

i can understand that ticket price will inevitably increase every year, especially when the price reward is going up, but i just feel the increase is too much this time. with the WC just a week away, and SG Open the last stop of 4th consecutive weeks of tournament, it shouldn't be a surprise to see many top 10 players skipping the SG Open. shouldn't this be taken into consideration when they decide on the ticket price structure?

SIngapore open this year did not increase the prize money, right ?

Yeah, I think they should not increase the ticket prize too much if they did not increase the total prize money

    The prize money increase US$ 5,000 compare to last year : US$ 350,000 become US$ 355,000.

    Single champion prize money : US$ 26,250 become US$ 26,625.
    Double champion prize money : US$ 27,650 become US$ 28,045.

But, yes the ticket price increase a lot if we compare with the prize money.
