Well, seems u already made the purchase for AT800DE, hope u will enjoy the new weapon. Just want to point out the difference between oval and iso:

    1. ISO: larger sweet spot = easier to hit, but LESS power
    2. OVAL: smaller sweet spot = hard to hit the center, but MORE CONDENSED power if u do hit

Make ur own call btw the trade offs... ;)

This is definitely a lot of smiles. :D

G5 might be a good choice for u, as u prefer smaller grip. If still too big, consider to remove the original grip, and put 2 layers of overgrip (i.e. Yonex SuperGrap) instead. That's actually how I reduce the size of my G4 rackets. ;)

    :crying:

**goes look for more money** :D

Uhm, I do feel very lucky right now, but perhaps not as lucky as you. The AT800 DE is the very first good racket I will own. The one before this was a $25 Wilson racket, and before that, I think a used and warped Prince. :p I only started playing around 2 years ago. I don't even have the right shoes.

Pre-emptive and I couldn't find a time convenient for both of us to meet, as we both don't make frequent trips to GGBC. And I wouldn't have had time to test out the racket, since his is a 3U and my friend's is 4U, there was a big difference.

o, ic. my mp 66 is 3u so i should be able to adjust to the AT800DE easily (if i do buy it :( )
but of course all rackets are different so i probably wont know til i try it out first.

well, congrats on the purchase and hope it helps u win many games in the future ;)

**goes off to look for more money** :D

You can go to camden center open gyms. Fridays @ 530-830 for 2 bucks w/ your student id card. Shipping was 5 bucks cuz sum98 is shipping some some city in CA. Have fun with the racket!

Thanks. Camden's a bit far. Some of my friends go, but Friday nights I play at a church near my house just for fun. It has a less competitive and a more friendly atmostphere. :)

wow, thats cool that u have a church that has badminton. i wish the down down the street from me would have it too. then i wouldnt have to nag ppl to drive me to play. :D

but like your first post said, you are trying to make varsity rite? if so, i would suggest you go play where it is a bit more competive so you can learn more. :)

Erh, that's true, but people are so scary. :p I'm not a really competitive person, more like the annoying type who apologizes at least 10 times during a game, even when it's not my fault.

And by the way, I changed my mind about the shoes. Since I only have one year left in high school and the season's like 2 months, it's not really worth it. I can always sell the racket but not really the shoes.... unless someone wants used shoes. :p I told my coach I bought a new racket, and he basically said that it was stupid since I only have one year left. :( Still, he's right.

I'm not sure. It'd be awesome, since I love playing, but I'm not good enough to be on a college team. Also, I'm not sure if I'll have time for badminton. College is for studying, right?

you dont have to be on the college team to play. your college will have open gyms, and if they dont, there will probably be many places that will have them (unless u go to college out in the middle of nowhere........like modesto :D )
even if all you did was study, there would surely be some time to relax and have fun, im pretty sure bout that. and there is always summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and ur coach is messed up for saying that getting a new racket is stupid.

get the shoes(if u want, normal shoes work too :) ), keep the racket, and continue playing after high school. ;)

He was just being honest and stating his opinion.

So.. UC Berkeley and UCLA have open gyms? I know UCD has a club, but UCD is only one of my "safe" college choices.

Badminton during the summer... there goes my social life again. :p

UCB and UCLA are big schools, they will most like have open gyms (not to mention they are asian dominated ;) ) lol.

and i wouldnt mind giving up my social life for some badminton :D

but a few hours a day, a few days a week, really isnt going to do much to hurt it rite. :p

edit: dang, ur up real late.........(i am too, so yea.........)

I dunno, social life for badminton? I've been doing that a little too much lately. I've started checking out rackets instead of boys. Scary. :p As soon as my AT800 comes in, I'd want to sleep with it but won't for fear of breaking it. :p
