I'm a LD fan, but does anyone else thinks the funny towel-mopping incident at 16-19... other than to display his bottled frustration at the umpire/service judge, might be a shrewd exercise to distract and disrupt Christie's rhythm?
keep in mind the competition in a wt300 is much easier. he doesn't have to face a string of top 10 players leading up to the final. i'm glad he won, too, but it's nothing to get excited about.
Oh I know that. But someone wondered about his celebration over a wt300 title, so I was just trying to 'see' what LD had in mind and got a bit excited for him. And this is actually the first time I watched him winning a title live. Have only been following his matches since the AE this year
Probably just showing his frustration with the umpire and the stupid decision to not mop the court. Umpires mess this up quite often, and almost always in a futile attempt to re-establish some sort of dominance over the players. I remember a match quite recently where Axelesen had to point out that his opponent was, in fact, right and there was moisture on the court...while it is important to keep time-wasting to a minimum, the umpires need to remember that even a small bit of moisture can transform the court into a slippery slide, and put the players at significant risk of injury. And that can hugely impact their career, and thus their livelihood... Probably doesn't help that most umpires look like they haven't stood on a court in years. Or if they have, that's all they did, not actually move.
Lin Dan shows everyone in 武汉 Gymnasium he can still dive to save the shuttle if she(China) wants him to do that
Lin Dan : Thankyou to my teammates for these 10 days in Thailand and winning The Championships. Everyone is so great. Lin Dan fans can buy these shirts designed by YONEX celebrating Lin Dan's 20 Major Titles after TC 2018 soon if they have money to spent.
Lin Dan let Shi Yuqi win ALL ENGLAND so that latter's confidence is sky high for Thomas Cup and in this way LD could win his 20th Major. ~ What a Genius~! ~~~ Unreal Anticipation of things to come. ~~~~~~~~GOAT!!!!!!!!
I don't think that is the case. in that game SY played very well. hungry to win and prove himself. his advantages are young, fit and knowing LD game very well. probably they played each other many times in training. LD advantages are his ability to change the game and escalate during crucial moment. his killer instinct and smashes put opponent in guessing game thus unable to play their normal game. But he cannot escape age. so i dont think he can win many more trophies. unfortunately china don't have another LD in the current team
This man in red behind LD is very important to LD. He is LD's Personal Physical trainer as Lin Dan no longer works in Fitness Programme of CBA. LD's improved Physical Fitness since Rio Olympics is totally on this man. I have posted his name once in this thread but don't recall it now.
Yes, he is Lin Dan's personal physical trainer, paid out of his own pocket, not CBA as he's not using the one provided by the association. Can't recall his name too (somewhere in this thread).
Lin Dan's world ranking is in double digits after Thomas Cup as Thomas Cup Hero HS Prannoy enters Top 7.
Lin Dan is not going to the CAN Open WTS100 tournament after playing the US Open WTS300 event, but this colleagues who are accompanying him to the US will proceed North after that, viz., Gao Fangjie, Li Xuerui, Lu Guangzu, Zhou Zeqi, et al. Can't blame him as he has to defend the MAS Open WTS750 title which commences the week after, what with the long-haul flight back across the Pacific Ocean to Malaysia, not to mention the jetlag and the third tournament in a row should he take part in the CAN Open, would be quite a stretch for him ,esp for someone his age, understandably. Additionally, pushing himself to the limit in three back-to-back tournaments in a WTS100 level 6, Grade 2 event is obviously not worth it.
Would LD share one of his medals with his PT after all he had done for making the 20th world champion? Or a big bonus especially if those 20th Champion T-shirts sold out.
