I tried out a YY towel grip and I can confidently say I really like towel grips. I'm wanting to buy them in reels because I know I'll go through a lot of them. The YY ones seem hard to get ahold of in reels in the UK; I was wondering if anyone had a better or cheaper alternative to them. Maybe something like Monsoon?

I can get YY grips from that vendor, but they look a little sketchy ebay isn't generally the best place for sports equipment, lots of fake stuff
i would say stick to the tried and tested brands. i used victor towel grips. a big reel of them, and yonex are also good. havent tried monsoon but i have had the misfortune of trying other brands before and they have been rubbish!
The guy who runs that shop posts here, he's called Eric. I've ordered loads of stuff from him and so have many, many people here. He's 100% trustworthy as far as I'm concerned.
Please do not buy Towell Grips it is such a waste of money. We can make our own towel grip with better quality than what is available in the market. Making a towel is not expensive and can be made by using an old towel and a double side tape. I generally change my grip every week and this has made a lot of impact on my game. My grip is always new and always take pride in telling my friends that the towel grip was made at home. It is highly cost effective and improves ones game. If you want further details on how to make towell grip I would share my experience.
Feel free to, but honestly I have one 10.5m and one 25m reel coming that cost £7.50 and £20 respectively, and I only plan to grip half of the handle a-la Lin Dan... I'm not fussed about less than £30 for what'll end up as 60 or so grips.

As I said .. quite chunky and they last well. The Ashaway ones fit more as an overgrip but with the Apacs ones I need to strip all the grips off before fitting or the grip is too big for me.
yer, towel grips arent expensive, i wouldnt bother making any. what i would say is defo invest in some good quality grip powder. ive tried yonex and victor and they have both been good. ashaway not so good, but better than nothing....
I agree with that. Ashaway grip powder is very 'lumpy' and rough...you will notice the difference instantly with yonex grip powder, fine and soft. IMO Best towel grip I used is the victor reel from Eric.
Pls use homemade towell grips it is far better in quality and very economical. One change the grip every three days of playing. Imagine playing with a new grip every time you get on to the court.
yes best i have used is victor too. just the right thickness and feel. and yesy exactly i found the ashaway to be a bit lumpy. not noticed any difference between yonex and ashaway. im sure the chinese team use yonex though, hence why they always tape over the yonex labels in the international tournaments
I tried 2 out, Yonex and one called Apollo or something - the latter was bloody rubbish. Avoid. It just falls apart.
Li Ning towel grips are as good as any out there, but at better prices. The GP 010 are used by many of our youth players. No complaints and they are 1/2 price of others out there.
