I use to play singles at an intermediate level and used the Duora 10. I recently started playing badminton and started to play a lot of men's doubles. I don't have trouble clearing,drops and do decent smashes. I did notice that at times I was lacking some speed and was getting tired towards the end sessions. (Partly because, I wasn't active for ~2 months.) I was planning to get a quicker and a bit lighter racket and want to try something a bit less stiff for a doubles racket and use my Duora as a backup now. (don't have a backup racket at the moment.) I'm deciding between the Astrox 77 4u or the Bs12 3u/4u or another even balanced/slightly head heavy mid flex. What would you guys recommend?
I do not own the Astrox 77 but if you must know I just got me hands on both variant of the ASTROX 88S and ASTROX 88D and I must say, the Brave Sword 12 is still a very hard racket to beat. Its defense and and offence qualites still surpass a lot of theother rackets out there and in my personal honest opinion, the BS 12 will still remain a very relevant racket in many years to come.
I think if you struggle with the D10, you'll definitely struggle with the AX77. To me, the D10 felt like a flyswatter. That said, I don't think the BS12 will be a step up in terms of power from the D10.
bs12 all the way for me, but if you are like the majority who gets caught in the sanjaya and kevin used astrox hype, then astrox. nothing in yonex comes close to bs12 in terms of defense, maybe nr800/750 cuz its crazy headlight. but bs12 is even balaced, medium flex, perfect for any recreational player, and if lyd, yys can use it and own tournaments (albeit a few years ago), you cant ever say its bad lol
Nearly no other racket feels like a bs12. Fastest racket and still enough power. If I wouldn't switched to the js12 I would still stick with the bs12.
