wow, is no one here a fan of chen hong?? im rooting for him since the last few years he has been in the shadow of lin dan.
MS peter gade ,flying the flag for europe, his sportsmanship, not having many more WC opportunities XD robertson/emms, raise profile of badminton higher in britain particularly with Olympics coming in 2012, robertson`s showmanship is also good for the game`s profile (in my view)
Im Going for a Malaysian Whitewash MS - Lee Chong Wei/Hafiz Hashim ( Wong Choon Han Would Be Nice For Him To Fhinish his career on a high) WS - Wong Mew Choo XS - Koo Kien Keat/Wong Pei Tty WD - Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui MD - Koo Kien Keat and Chan Chong Ming ... One can dream, no?
If all the players keep the shape they are currently in, my picks are: MS: Taufik Hidiyat MD: Candra/Sigit WS: Zhang Ning to retain her title! WD: Zhang/Yang XD: Zhang Jun/Gao Ling
I'm his fan!! Hehehe. Yeah, he's always been shadowed by Lin Dan, but I like Lin too! I think he's an excellent player... Hope he'll succeed in the WC. Anyway, here's who I want to win: MS: Chen Hong/Lin Dan/ Bao Chun Lai WS: Zhang Ning!! MD: Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun!!!! WD: Gao/Huang.. but it doesn't really matter if any other players from China do. XD: Chen Qiqiu/Zhao Tingting or Zhang/Gao Nevertheless, jia you to all the Chinese players!!!
of course you can! my dreamteam is: MS: Lee Chong Wei WS: Zhang Ning MD: Chandra/Sigit WD: Saralee/Sathinee XD: Lee/Lee sorry for not picking european to win a title. however, US is a neutral ground, who knows?
I can see that you're from Indonesia but how come you're not rooting for Indonesians who are top favorites to win in the tournament (i.e., Taufik/Candra & Sigit)?...Am just curious hehe
I want to see Taufik vs Xia in the finals... too bad Xia isn't going :crying: ... i would have gotten to see it live
i'm sorry you can't watch that match this time but looking forward to the next~~ Xia has bad form recently with the reason he might know himself maybe he need more time and systemic training for recovering~
I would like taufik to win the men's singles and beat lindan again along the way... I would also like chandra wijaya and sigit budiarto to win the world championship title in the mens doubles.... its not that I prefer indonesia to win but I really like their game style...
I'll go for MS: Taufik or LCW WS: Wang Chen MD: Cai/Fu or Wijaya/Budiarto WD: ? XD: ? Ofcourse most of all I want the Swedish participants to win, but that's not gonna happen
Agree with you! LCW can hardly win coz his skill is still not as good as LinDan & Taufik. Hope Taufik can win coz I am a big fan of him. but am sure Lin Dan will give him a good fight if they meet at final. Men double : My favorite is Sigit & Wijaya, they are veteran !!! BTW, do you know usually when (US time) the tournament will be carried out?
Hey! Am absolutely agree wit you... Their game style is why I admire them. But LinDan will go all out for the championship as he is very confident to win. How nice if I can be in California to experience this tournament!
i agree... how nice they can sit before TV watching the splendid match admire them so much though Lindan have confridence to win, i support taufik who has the same confridence and maybe superior to him
Haha, interesting topic, my pics are : MS : Taufik Hidayat or Peter Gade WS : Zhou Mi...well kinda miss her ..since i hardly see her win any recent tourneys MD : Chandra/Sigit..always become one of my fav pairs after Ricky/Rexy WD : Gao Ling/Huang Shui..love their smiles XD : Nova/Lilyana...wat happen to them? Seems their performance decline...\ Hopefully my dream come true..
Lindan only failed at the olympics, that's all. 2004 he beat Peter to win AE. 2005 he probably let Chen Hong won it (if you've read some of the other threads). The last WC was in 2003, and Lindan is much better now so there is no fair comparison. From the Malasian open final and the Asian vs. Europe matches, Lin Dan seemed very much on form. LCW just over-performed lol. And even if he didn't play his hardest against Bjeorn and Bosen, his game was very smooth and fast.
