Another player form Denmark with tremendous potential is Emil Holst. He was part of Denmark's team at the 2014 Thomas Cup, and acquitted himself well. Born January 9, 1991 Plays for: Denmark Plays: Mens singles, right-handed. Current BWF ranking, MS: 55 (best 53) Emil ruled in the U17 and U19 sections of the Denmark Individual Junior Championships from 2006 through 2009, and was the 2009 MS winner at the European junior Championships. From 2011 to 2014, he won a handful of International tournaments in Europe. He appears to have been busy, mainly on the European circuit. The Thomas Cup has given him some much-needed exposure to the Asian audience. He has a powerful, busy and athletic style combined with quick reflexes, and promises much improvement. He could be a key player for Team Denmark in the following years.

Emil Holst quits the Denmark National Team. https://olahraga.kompas.com/read/20...incang-indonesia-siap-rebut-piala-thomas-2018.
Judging by the time he retired I suppose he wanted to play in the Thomas cup once more before retiring but when he did not make the team he announced the retirement, poor guy.
How come he did not make it while JOJ who have been injured for a long time made it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I suppose the DEN national coaches chose Jorgensen over him, a bit questionable considering that Jorgensen is in a semi-injured mode and has lost to Sameer Verma, Lee Dong Keun, Mark Caljouw and Rajiv Ouseph this year so far.
Well, Holst has been in awful form in 2018 and lost to Arnaud Merkle, Sam Parsons, Kai Schaefer, Lee Zii Jia, Iskandar, Suppanyu and Lucas Claerbout this year. Absolutely no reason to believe Holst can beat better players than Jørgensen.
