Li Xuerui participation then won Ling Shui China Masters last month is quite clear signal that CHN will select her for Uber team. They drop Chen Xiaoxin and select Gao Fangjie, no surprise as the latter had shown significant breakthrough and tremendous progress in last six months.

Indeed, suspicious fact then Tian HW didn't taking part any international tournament since HKG Open last November.

Nope, I remembered, the MS arrangement for Thomas Cup Final 2016 was Tommy, Anthony Ginting, Ihsan where all of them lost to Danish MS squad. INA didn't field Jonatan at that final.

they chose Qiao Bin rather than Huang YX.

    I thought HYX was better.

Talking about team competition, mental strength will play vital role, Qiao Bin is the reserved player for Thomas Cup 2016 and looking at his result at Asia Men's Team Championships early this year, I think Xia Xuanze decides he's the one.
Huang Yuxiang made the headline in All England when he defeated two top-ranked Indian player in a row, Srikanth and Prannoy, before that sensational result, too bad he ousted regularly in early rounds.

India's chances of coming with a medal at the Thomas cup can't be right offed. I believe that doubles pair of satwik and chirag will be crucial in deciding how far India's campaign goes. India can beat any team with those three singles on any given day but when it comes to big teams like China , Denmark then you need to have the doubles department performing well as it's not easy to take 3 singles from them.

India usually announces it's team very very late. Still there is no news about the Thomas and Uber cup team selection.

India's chances of coming with a medal have been depleted with the withdrawal of pv Sindhu and srikanth from the team lists.

Thomas and Uber Cup 2018: India to send depleted squad as PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth are rested

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has decided to rest some of the star shuttlers ahead of the World Championships and Asian Games.

Both the Indian men's and women's will have their task cut out at the Thomas and Uber Cup to be held in Bangkok from 20-27 May. Not only have they been grouped alongside formidable opponents but they will also head into the tournament with a depleted squad as the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has decided to rest some of the star shuttlers.

It has been learnt by Sportskeeda that PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth are the ones who have been rested ahead of the World Championships and the Asian Games. We will have to wait and see if there are more surprises in the squad.

The women’s team has been drawn in Group A of the Uber Cup alongside five-time winners Japan, Canada and Australia. In Thomas Cup, the Indian men will be accompanied by nine-time champions China, France and Australia in Group A.

As reported earlier, Sindhu had suffered a slight ankle injury just before the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. She did not play a single match in the team event and in the individual event, as well, she did not look at her 100%. The 22-year-old shuttler went on to lose to compatriot Saina Nehwal in the final and had to settle for silver.

At the recently concluded Badminton Asia Championships, Sindhu could not make it past the quarterfinals as she lost to South Korean star Sung Ji Hyun.

Srikanth, as well, had his own share of injury problems last year. He made a comeback at the India Open in February. Since then, he has steadily made progress. The 25-year-old returned with a gold and a silver medal from Gold Coast. However, in Wuhan, at the Badminton Asia Championships, he lost to Lee Chong Wei in the quarters.

A couple of days back, Srikanth had said that he might skip a few tournaments as looks to focus on winning medals at the World Championships and the Asian Games.

Concerning India , India have slim chances of making past quarters without even any one of Saina and Sindhu.

"Rested"? Two months before the tournament? That's quite a bit of a rest. :D

Satwik Rankireddy was busy preparing for 12th exams so MD1 out and Sikki Reddy has typhoid knocking out WD1.
Srikanth Kidambi and PV Sindhu low on confidence and fitness. India thus put up a B team.
Only positive, youngsters get exposure a sign of how the team will look in 2020.
