    Good video.

    Reason for not using much shoulder is because you want to contact the shuttle as high as possible to get the steepest angle, so shoulder should be outstretched.

    i think the reason for not using shoulder is the speed of the shot

    it must be done superquick. no time for big movements

    it is for advanced players i think
    you must have very good armstrength, gripstrength, good timing etc. to make that shot work

    Thanks for sharing this. Didn't understand any of the commentary, obviously, but I like the demonstration very much. Very good. I really like the stick smash/clip smash because it really forces you to get a good contact. If you learnt to hit stick smashes with half that power, you would probably have a very good regular smash when you add a little more "energy" to the stroke.
