I definitely like my n9ii for smashing. No doubt that if I was going to play an aggressive all-out attack match, my n9ii is the definite weapon of choice. Because not only for the power that I like, but also, I'm more familiar with my n9ii. But if I'm playing with a partner with equal skills, I would go with the 4u 88s for a more tactical control choice .
Wonder if that would change after a couple months of practice anyways can’t wait to try it out myself. Waiting on my 4U 88S early next week ^^ can’t wait to compare it to my 4U JS10
Imo if you feel like a racquet is too slow because your smashes are being countered, then it's probably not the racquet but rather the angle and placement of the smash. Instead of going to a 4U racquet it's much better to improve those smashes.
I don't think he was concerning about his smashes being too slow. I think he felt that the recovery of the racquet is a little slower than the n9ii, so that he was not fast enough for the next shot when his opponent counters his smash. But I do agree with you that there's always room for improvements in our smashes, whether it's power output or placement. I think he just needs a little time to adjust from his n9ii to the 88s like I did. It's definitely not the racquet. But everybody has different feelings, we might not know it .
Considering the witchcraft Kevin produces with this, it definitely can't be the racket ;P Oh and I don't understand the recovery part when compared to N9ii. N9ii's stiffness is nowhere near which is why I had the opposite issue with it and found myself grabbing a 10DG over it a few times. Surprising that 88s feels slow on recovery.
Yonex.com website under Badminton Player profiles notes Axelsen with Astrox 88S equipment. http://yonex.com/players/badminton-players/viktor-axelsen/
I wonder why Lin Dan is the only badminton player in that list that doesn't list his equipment. And i noticed too that yonex doesn't use him much anymore to.promote their new stuffs. Sent from my SM-J320F using Tapatalk
Because they've got to lie thorougly. Repaints aside, the LDF 2017 color (black/red) wasn't officially announced, just released and pushed out like the Jewel Blue D10LCW, and his shoe... SHBSC6iW/LD and now SHBCFZWMD makes no point announcing it since it's like a JP only item, though they can bluff it with the EX counterparts.... Also, the LDF has been discontinued, so no point putting things out there that cannot be bought anyways... Anyway, Yonex JP also lists Axelsen (translated accelerator-sen) as AX88S. http://www.yonex.co.jp/badminton/players/post-5.html
I believe that Yonex is going all out with terms of players endorsing the 88 to churn up as much as possible ,before they release another special racket such as z astrox. I am sure many would then switch sides again ... Marketing
I find it unbelievable that people find the news of Axelsen using the 88s to be unbelievable. The 88s could be the rise phoenix of arcsaber's ashes, and we all know how fond Viktor was with his arcsaber before his dzstrike . It does make sense that he would go with the 88s, which in my honest opinion is a beefed up arcsaber . Just my 2 cents of course
