    I don't have AX88S for comparison.
    AX88D 4u review is :

The best part of this racket is drive and flat clear.
It has decent initial speed together with the best control & distance.

Drop, slice, & Net can also be controlled at very high precision.

    Half smash is Energy-efficient
But, Full power smash is not up to the best group.
To confirm this, I changed a new string yet same result.
    NBG98 31lbs -> Ion65 30lbs

It's best for singles & doubles ( if you don't count on smash a lot )
Drive Control & Half Smash are excellent.

    Overall, I would recommend AX88D 4u.
It has everything required to win. But, if you are looking for some big hammer, it's not a go.

Not really. You can give your wallet a reaaal workout before you work out your new frames on court. Hahahaha.

But honestly, spoke to someone with 3U 88D. Bit too slow and hefty in the head (for commoners I suspect). He was saying, just use it as a training racquet. I lol.

Technically 88D is (on paper) is the new VT80 so using the logic of anything VT80 and above I wouldn't want to wield a 3U, it kind of makes sense. Too sledgehammer.

But I'm weak. There are others that love their 3U VTZF2 so who am I to say on a general level?

    Both 88D & S didn't perform well in smash.
I think this NAMD shaft is outstanding at 10-70% Power (55 for 88S maybe).
for 70 - 100% power, traditional rackets performs better (60-100% for 88S maybe)

I find you rating in percentage a little confusing,, your 70% may be my 100%. Are you saying if you have a powerful smash they will not suit,? And visa versa if you have a weak smash they are perfect?

that is interesting, and i think i know what you mean. I have a 77 4U right now and i like it a lot, but i do feel sometimes that a standing quick smash is more powerful then a full jump smash. Could be a recurring characteristic of the Astrox range.

    Yes
If your style is like Machine Gun, AX series is a good weapon.
If your style is like a canon, than you might be disappointed.
Some people can switch between this 2 modes, than it's fine either way.

I've scaled through this entire thread.

Any comparisons between the 88D or 88S and the Z Speed, in terms of headweight and stiffness?

I am N9ii and AX88S user. I bought 4ug5 with lining no. 1 @26lbs. Only playing in Doubles.

    In my opinion :
    Drive : AX88S>>N9ii
    Defense : AX88S>> N9ii
    Netting : AX88S> N9ii
    Smash : AX88S <N9ii
    Drop shot : AX88S>>N9ii
    Lob : AX88S>N9ii
    Accuracy : AX88S=N9ii

This is not demanding racket and very easy to use even the specs says its a stiff racket. Now I am tempted to buy a AX88S in 3U maybe it has more punch without sacrificing the speed . Or Mizuno JPX Ltd 3U. I read some good user review and want to test if really fast that can generate decent smash.
