I have not seen too much information on the difference between these strings, and what they are like. There probably is in the thread about these Ashaway Fire strings...but who has time to dig through threads?

My personal favourite string is BG80, but it breaks too fast. Using VS800 right now, as I have found it (at 1.5lbs higher than normal) to be ok in feel compared to BG80. As I can obtain a reel of Zymax 66 Fire/Fire power for only a dollar more than a reel of VS800, the savings in buying a reel can effectively negate the decrease in durability.

My questions regarding this string are:

How hard-feeling is it in comparison to VS800? Any difference between Fire/Fire Power?
    Durability?
Which one (fire/Fire power) feels harder.
Would Zymax 69 also be a good choice? Is (Zymax 69) softer-feeling, etc.
How rough exactly is the 66Fire, and the Fire Power? BG80/VS800 level, or what. I tend to slice a lot, so this is very important. <--Why I cant use BG65

Sorry for asking about strings twice in the last month or so...

You could always get the ashaway trial pack and test all the strings for yourself.

    I've only used ZM69F, BG66UM, and BG80P all at around 24lbs.

    Power/repulsion: BG66UM >> BG80P > ZM69F
    Durability: ZM69F > BG80P >> BG66UM
    Control (grip, roughness): BG66UM > ZM69F > BG80P

66 fire power is quite soft too me and not very textured. I think the fire is more textured and has a harder feeling. All zymax strings feel a little soft to me though. Can't get li Ning 1 or 5?

I have been using Zymax 66 Fire Power for over 2 years now. I string it at 29lb. I find you need to string it at a higher tension to get comparable feeling of BG80 26lb and you also get more power from Zymax. I tried at tension 26lb and the feeling is too soft. 30lb was a little too much for me. 29lb seems to be the idea spot. Keep in mind, I wont do 29lb if I am playing with BG65, probably 25lb. So, it may seem like a high number for intermediate player like me but not for Zymax 66FP.

I don't think you'll find anything directly comparable to BG80. 66FP feels very different to BG80.

Apparently they have a new string coming out that's more comparable to BG80... but yeah, nothing at the moment. I haven't found anything that feels like BG80 from Li Ning either.
