RIP Jung Jae-sung. One of my favourite players when I first started watching badminton. Inspiring to watch.

I'm absolutely speechless. A huge loss for the world of badminton. I cannot believe we've lost a legend of the game at just 35.
Lee Yong Dae and Jung Jae Sung were my favourite mens doubles pairs and deserved so many more titles than they got.

In my humble opinion, LYD/JJS vs FHF/CY in World Championship 2009 at Hyderabad was the best doubles match in the last 20 years.

I still can't believe what I heard this morning...he is my badminton idol :(

I only started playing more seriously, as in actually joining the first of many clubs, after I saw him play live with Lee Yong Dae in WC 2011 and AE 2012. I was amazed that badminton could be played with that kind of intensity and passion...especially with Jung seeming to put heart, body and soul into all his shots. I have watched countless hours of his matches with LYD after that and attempt to play with that same intensity.

From what I've seen in the news, the last public picture I can find is when Jung carried the torch for 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics on 10th January 2018 - https://www.pyeongchang2018.com/en/news/torch-relay-for-pyeongchang-olympics-in-incheon#

I'm just glad that I got to watch him live and that he showed us all how real badminton can be played.

In addition to pcll99's comment, I think that the game below is another fantastic match to watch. I'm also the owner of the channel and will be searching for more games with JJS to upload - let me know if you have any suggestions!

    RIP Jung Jae Sung

Till now, I still half wished and half hoped it's an April Fool's gone awry or whatever, just not the truth. Oh man. The AE2012 match, always one to remember.

But what's happened has happened; so rest in peace, Jung Jae Sung...

This is so shocking. I only just read this and couldn't believe it myself.

One of my all time favorite players. I'm lost for words, so sad.

Even now, 6 years after his retirement I still find myself searching for clips of him playing now.

    RIP.

I was a big fan of JJS and LYD. Years ago I made this MV as a tribute after announcement of their split as a pair, who would of thought this day would come...? A player of such flare and passion who puts his heart and soul into every smash. You will be missed by many

Today (or this just past Sunday) was JJS's last journey.

LYD KKJ and members of the Samsung team helped carry JJS's coffin.

This really is it, guys. The end of the (mortal) road for JJS. Rest in peace sir, and I am still not getting my head round it right now.

Anyway, with what the South Korean police said, JJS was found to have a heart issue 3 years ago during his health checkup. So it isn't as sudden as we all think. I think this alleviates the blow somewhat, but it still doesn't right my head that he is gone. Just like that.

Last year, Samsung Electronics Mens' Team won the National championship, and the Ladies' got third.

Who would've expected these 2 full team photos to become something to remember for a entirely different meaning.

Tks esppy. I had suspected a pre existing medical condition, as he always had a tired and plethoric look on his face on the coaches chair in the tournament matches he had coached. But still, all too sudden and all too soon.

Its a known issue before his retirement. We discussed it before. I thought it must have healed. Unexpected. So live a good life. Fix the problem. It is short.

Fearsome player to all. I remember seeing him in sg having the afro hairdo. I saw him training at the old sba hall with his distinct non stop smashes.

He could have 40 years of badminton contribution ahead of him. Who knows more olympic champions.
