I have been testing this string for some time. There is considerable improvement in the coating but the core is not hard enough to be a real BG80 contender. TX is due in 64 and 68 gauge so at least this is getting closer to BG80. It's a pretty good string although the black's coating was showing early signs of wear. That said, I'm still excited for the launch and will be stocking it. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
Now on victor website: https://www.victor-international.com/index.php?page=product&id=674 Looks like NBG99 for me?
Hmm... from the marketing point of view: NBG99 YONEX original rough braided fibre and a special nylon coating provide maximum bite on the shuttle for enhanced hairpin net shots and cuts. - control string - much textured coating - 0,69mm Zymax68tx The newest innovation of the top brand ASHAWAY is a further development of the ZyMax series. Due to the textured surface of the strings, the player gets more grip and best feeling with enormous control. - control string - much textured coating - 0,68mm BG80 and BG80Power's marketing is repulsion and power...
Ironically, I just had lunch with Steve Crandall of Ashaway (today). Stringing up some rackets with 64 and 68 TX as we speak and will test out, then report back late tonight.
TX first impressions: Was busy and only able to string up two of six rackets yesterday. Will string up four more for detailed testing on Saturday assuming the weather's warmer. One 64TX at 34.0lbs. (two others will be: 28.0lbs. and 32.0lbs.) One 68TX at 31.5lbs. (two others will be: 28.0lbs. and 34.0lbs.) It was very cold yesterday night at the club, the shuttles were flying slow so it's hard to give an accurate review but the TX strings are definitely stiffer feeling than their ZyMax Fire counterparts. The repulsion is excellent, the feel, great. Control and grip were up there as well. Very impressive considering the cold temperature. 64TX at 34.0lbs. was at the elastic limit (at least for me). This thing felt like a board, like BG80 at 37lbs. Realistically, I feel the maximum optimal play tension is 32lbs. A few asked for a frequency test right off the machine, I didn't do it (too late, already strung the rackets); but now, after 24+ hours since stringing and 5 hours of play, it's at 1392Hz on CarlTune. 68TX at 31.5lbs. was excellent, not at its elastic limit so I'm going to try 34.0lbs. It was very solid, lots of pop. I don't have that racket in my possession at this moment for a ping reading. Overall, after the first test, I really like the ZyMax TX strings. They are a definitely a worthy addition to the Zymax string line. Will post more information on Sunday.
I got my order of 64tx and 68tx strings today, and I'll be testing them out after I restring my n9ii with these new strings.
It's selling out at Goode Sport (UK) very quickly it seems. Must be a good sign. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
Just received my reels of the 64 and 68tx strings today. Will update investment I've had a go. Got the 2 new X fire 2 and X speed 2 rackets to test out too. Been using zymax 66 fire power for customer and zymax 62 fire for my personal use so can give comparisons to them. Used to be an avid nanogy 98 and bg80 user too so will see how these new ashaway strings match up.
sorry mate. honestly i would, but ive got the 200M reel, not the 10M sets. they should be back in stock now though. try their website? R
Only real place I could see it at was stringersworld at 5 £. The disappointing thing is the shipping costs 7 £ which is way more than what I'd pay for EMS from Japan. Oh well I hope it hits the shores of HK soon and I can grab some from MBS or E78.
try goodesports again. it says out of stock. but you can still buy and they will ship when in stock. i think they have them now. use the zyfire50 discount code. gives you 50% if you buy a reel its free shipping too. R
