Momota's ankle injury has not healed in time for the BATC. Although he will attend the championships, he stated that he cannot contribute to the team in his current condition, and he is not expected to represent Japan. Accordingly, Japan's trio of players (men's team) will be Nishimoto, Sakai, and Tsuneyama.
Host Thailand alongside with 2016 champion, China (Uber Cup) and Denmark (Thomas Cup) are automatically get TUC final round ticket in Bangkok.
Looking at the player list, China only bring B/C team (except WS squad). Lin Dan, Chen Long, Liu/Zhang, Li/Liu, Chen/Jia miss this event and surely they will show up in Bangkok, upcoming May.
Post #3 Updated! Outline Schedule Group Schedule The first match is starting tomorrow at 9:00 am (local time). Match overview of Tuesday, February 6, 2018 : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...903522-3120-484E-B0BF-2E923920DD85&d=20180206
hmmm with momota not playing, isn't it wise to bring extra player just in case if 1of the 3 got injured too? same as in japan ws, i though NO not fully fit yet, why not bring in extra, not like they are short on extra or anything...
Anyway, why do I feel that the outcome of TUC is 50% determined by this tournament? Kinda don't like this feeling because it decreases the potential of surprise on the actual tournament
*Sees the post about japan team* Oh my god yes momota in a good tournament finally! *Reads kurako’s post* WHY is the world so unfair so as to keep us from watching him play more urghhhh. Although I have to say, after his performance recently I will be looking forward to seeing Nishimoto play.
On men's team group-stage draw it's easy to predict who'll progress to knock-out stage, only group C that offers interesting tie : Group A : CHN, HKG Group B : JPN, KOR Group C : MAS ~ TPE ~ THA Group D : INA, IND Women's team : Group W : JPN, IND v HKG should be crucial match to determine the runner-up position Group X : KOR, TPE Group Y : THA, MAS Group Z : CHN, INA
I'm afraid there will be no live streaming for group stages. Le'ts hope the knock-out stages give us a surprise.
Indian Women's Team had their backs to the wall and were in danger of missing the knockouts at 2-2. (Saina Nehwal resting in India) But they rose to the occasion and beat Hong Kong 3-2!
