You are right. I will put Victor in the top. LCW next. Considering his performance in Super series finals. Unfortunate , Srikanth injured in the wrong time. Could not regain his form in the finals at dubai. But still he will be coming next behind the above mentioned both. Chen long comes next but there are so many people who won 1 SS title this year. Then comes son won ho , then shi yuqi. Except for his victories over top men in group stage, he don't have any title this year. honestly you cannot say player X will beat player Y on any given night. If a tier 1 player has some kind of injury (even just a blister) he can easily lose to a tier 3 player. Look how LCW lost to leverdez. Staying healthy is a big 'skill'. I would also argue that LD might lack some motivation at this moment. The world rankings are a really good estimation. However i prefer of thinking in tiers. My tiers in no particular order: Lin Dan, LCW, CL, Viktor (These people have achieved success at the biggest stage) KS, SWH, CTC, shi yuqi and JOJ (if he comes back in decent form), all people with consistent good results.

Your view is more nuanced, more reasonable and acceptable to me, though I'm still somewhat reluctant to accept that VA is in the same league as The Super Trio of LD, LCW and CL yet. Admittedly, both LCW and LD are aged in badminton terms, well past their prime now, but Chen Long is not and still very much on top of his game as shown in the last two tournaments, namely, the CHN Open PSS and the HK Open SS. I expect CL to be back in top form next year and we know what he's truly capable of as he's proven in recent years. In other words, 2017, is not a good indication of his prowess, just a temporary slump, partly owing to injury concerns and his four-month break after ROG'16.
