Of course if i were to choose, i d rather win AE than WC/SSF.

Maybe with money comes prestige like SSF.

However, AE have money and prestige. Its the tournament i knew since i was young, the one that i always look forward to.

Because "Superseries" is being replaced with a new tournament setup "World Tour".

I believe both the AE and the Wssf titles are equal in prestige .... not based on money or fame but just from the quality of badminton one has to play to win it.

The fact is that one has to play 5 quality matches to win the wssf but to win the AE one needs 3 quality matches(from QF) to win it .

On the other hand one gives their absolute maximum to win the AE,AG , World title,Olympics....which may not be the case in the wssf. Also the level of national pride attached is more in case of AE and the other tourneys.

So while the AE has needs highest quality badminton in the final stages ...the wssf needs more consistent albeit not the absolute best badminton to win

Hence AE=WSSF title in terms of prestige...
    Hence proved.

Though theoretically, it's possible for you to advance to the knockout stages in SSF with only 1 group win. Most of the time, winning 2 matches in the group stage is enough to take you through.

    I do not agree.

AE, You lost in any rd, you are out.
WSSF, you can qualify for the semi even if you lose 1 or sometime even 2 matches in the group(if everyone in the group only won 1 match.).

Yes in general I think group play in badminton is retarded (or only stupid or bad if I retarded is too harsh) It feels wrong when the champion lost matches earlier in the tournament.

On the other hand, it eliminates a lot of draw-bias.

Tai is the favourite . Sindhu , Akane and Ratchanok are potential finalists . Chen Yufei is the underdog.

He bingjiao and Sayaka Sato are going to spoil anybody's party. Both are lefties.

I read an article in staronline just now. LCW seems very happy with his results so far and very eager to grab the title in Dubai which he could not do in the previous years considering this year is the last chance for him to do so.

You need to digest that 'last chance' word as below:

Dubai SSF 2014-2016 : LCW didn't get a title there
    - 2014 : force withdrawn
    - 2015 : didn't qualify
    - 2016 : failed at group stage.

LCW won 4 SSF titles before, 3 of them held in Malaysia (Kinabalu 2008, Johor Bahru 2009, Kuala Lumpur 2013) and and another one in Chinese Taipei 2010.

So, it's the last chance for Dubai edition.
