He dominated the net, but it still is below his best standard. Will be waiting for the clash against Vittinghus tomorrow, see how will he fare to have clearer view on his shot qualities at the moment :D

Momota wore Abian down in the first game, and blew him away in the second.

However, in a post-match interview given by Vittinghus (see Badminton Europe FB: https://www.facebook.com/badmintoneurope/), there was mention of Momota's fatigue, a small injury (?!), and an unlucky draw. I hope that these won't affect Momota's game too much today.

Apparently an injury in his back (???). Anyone who watched the match notice this?

Why not Gjcly? He's the third best left hander in the modern game.

Maybe it a little stiff but he certainly didn't pick up any injury in this match. Don't think there is any sort of tape on his back either let alone some kind of back brace :D

I watched the Momota - Pablo Abian match on livestream, apparently no signs of injury to me.

I think Kento Momota is slowly and steadily coming back.

HKV said after yesterdays match, that Momota had seem a little injured or fatiqued early in the tournament, but that he won his 1st game against Abian easily, without hitting a single smash - then he said, quote: "That says something about his shot quality - it's unreal!"

Don't be. Even if KM somehow lost to HKV, what matters is he can get back to SS form as fast as he can.

the only disappointment that I have if he lost is the lost chance to meet Wang tzu wei at the final as it would be the first time he get good sparring partner/opponent which really is at the top ranks level

Momota completely unthreatening from the rear court.

    Still 8-8.

Vittinghus just couldn't cope with Momota's technical qualities and has been wiped out 21-12 by The Gambling Artist.

The only improvement Momota made during the ban was his fitness, the rest suffered from lack of tournament matches

I like Momotas style! Seems like he watched LD a lot :p
He is one of the rare players who make it look so easy. I would bet that Momota as well as ofc LD run significantly less than their opponents...
I hope to see these two face off in the near future!
Its a pleasure to have KM back!
