I am over the moon. Gopochand's daughter lost in the first round of U-15 WS to an Indonesian girl.

Gayatri Gopichand will be under immense pressure after losing in the U-15 singles level which was supposed to be easy on paper. It will be a major mental blow and she will be low on confidence. Gayatri has limited international exposure. She has age on her side and expect her to improve over the next 3 years. Gayatri is under the spotlight and will be desperate for a medal in the remaining 2 events and at WJC.

Easy on paper? You must be kidding me. Please check the stats. She lost to the same girl this girl in straight games.
    This is her standard.

I wasn't talking about the H-H of these 2 players! The U-15 singles and doubles level was supposed to be Gayatri's strength as she plays in the U-17 level. Anyway, she will learn from this defeat and improve with time. :)

She was also an INA player and would have used similar strategies as the U-15 INA player. AJC a nightmare for Gayatri, doubles her final event.

Hope she fulfills my dream in double as well by losing it in round 2 since she was given a free ticket in round 1.

What's with all the hatred? Can't you she's already in immense pressure. It was a blunder done by the selection committee, why get everything off on her, you see it hasn't helped anybody. Vaishnavi not playing here, hence not taking much rest, picked up an injury. Gayatri all of a sudden under immense pressure, all this thing's going is already too intimidating for a 15 year old, and her lack of exposure didn't helped either.

You should keep your calm, we've already lost one medal hope, don't grudge upon the other, Akarshi plays tomorrow, even she's been underperforming lately, let's see. So is Malvika.

So much grudge on a kid, you can criticize selectors, her parents but don't have this much negativity on kids. You want Vaishnavi to be selected right, me too and most of the badminton fans, but how can she prove that she is better then most our kids who are just playing domestic tournaments unlike her. Vaishnavi's parents have money, she improved her ranking in the span of 3 months & that hit her badly now(she has a thigh injury), where as most of them don't have that opportunity.
Yes selection of gayatri is wrong, but don't be happy when someone is losing. She has been rightfully selected for U-15, U-17 tournaments, with the immense pressure on her she just cracked.

Guys, Chill. This is not me who use to blabber about talents. This is our System which makes everybody like that. Completely Unbelievable standards followed in selection. They have to respond to People. I don't know why Vaisnhnavi's family did not sue indian selectors. If they did, they will definitely win.

Wow. You have registered just to reply me !.
Nothing against that kid you are mentioning about. It would have been even nicer if you have registered to speak about the cruelty in indian badminton who neglects a kid who is world.no.13 in the rankings and selects a player who did not any ranking at all. How convenient to select the daughter of Head Coach in the place of some really talented player ! . Nothing to say.

    KARMA WILL DEFINITELY RETURN.
