Yonex Duora Z-Strike 2017 !

@swsh and others: what kind of string would you recommend for the Z-Strike? I have BG 80/80P, Aerosonic and No.1...

 

I loved 80 with my z strike. You could feel the shuttle very well and it was quite accurate which is what this racket is good at.

No.1 was really good too to generate power from it. Aerosonic at 30+ was bliss was well for a few times

Generic overused statement this but you really need to try out all of them and see for yourself which suits you the best. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

 

That's the beauty of DZS. It scores high on every single segment.

 

Except one that it is not easy to play with

 

You have to show that you really care about it. Perhaps take it out for a fancy dinner, hit the gym

 

DZS is like an absolutely stunning woman who's just playing hard to get.

You have to put in the effort.

 

It is after a few months time!

Glad to know you like this offering from Yonex, Paul. Do you still use it? Or are you required to send demo rackets back?

 

How does DZS compare to ld force?

 

I'm honestly wondering duora z strike or z force 2 because I prefer the z force 2 but like having new rackets afraid the voltric line is going to be replaced soon.

 

I don't think they can compare really. DZS feels and handles like a pro racket. At the same time I crack up when I see LDF priced higher than Z Force II (here) as it's nothing compared to ZFII. Even the person it was designed for agrees and doesn't use it. DZS is a way better racket than LDF in my personal opinion. If someone was looking for LDF style rackets, they have better options with nice aerodynamic frames.

 

ZF2 is better for the player that either lacks power in their smash or relies on their smash to win points. DZS is for the more technical player, and is better than the ZF2 in everything except the smash.

I prefer the DZS personally because I am a naturally powerful player and a smash from either racquet is just as effective. Therefore, I trade off a tiny amount of power to improve the other aspects of my game.

 

I have to return the Z Strike to the retailer. A few players tested it and they loved it too. It's not as easy to play with compared to LD Force, but that's expected bearing in mind it is stiffer with a compact head. How on earth Axelson plays with it at the tensions he prefers is beyond me.

It feels a lot better at that tension with thin strings

 

What string and tension does he use?

 

Aerobite at 33 lbs (around 15 kg)
Aerobite is 0.67 mm mains and 0.61 mm cross string

 

Excellent. It is a pity the g5 versions are difficult to get where you live.

 

It is indeed. I like my z strike's grip a lot more just because it's a G5 compared to my zf2's g4.

Wish they'd make g6 the standard everywhere. It's easy to make it thicker but hard the other way around.

 

It doesn't work because wrapping too many layers of grip makes the grip round. I only buy G4 racquets
