It's not a rumour. Yonex has had a pro team in Korea for several years and Lee Yong Dae's contract with Samsung Electromechanics will not extend past 10 years, which is the end of this year. Yonex has got him to join their team, which already has Ha Tae Kwon as the head coach. It has been reported on extensively in the Korean press. This Hankyoreh article mentions his inclusion in the Legends Vision deal, though citing an unnamed source. There is also a thread open on just this topic. Somewhere. For some reason, it's not in the Korea Professional Players forum.

With YYS back with Yonex as well now, I can't help but wonder if we could see LYD/YYS play together again as independent players like HS/TBH? I'm sure Yonex will enjoy the exposure and I think LYD still has a lot left in him.

As far as I know BKA is quite strict with players competing independently. Lee Hyun Il is playing independently though so it's not impossible. Let's hope that's the case :D

If I'm not mistaken, BKA does not allow male players to compete independently until they are 30-31, somewhere around that range. That's probably why Lee Hyun Il is able to compete independently.

I can understand that I guess, particularly as I think LYD/YYS would give their young compatriots in the national team a very hard time. BKA would not only lose face, it would demoralise their new recruits.

With LHI, I think it is slightly different because whilst he is still very good he has not beaten SWH in for 7 years whereas with LYD/YYS I think they are still capable of beating any pairing.

lets say you are BKA and you allow players out of BKA in korea to compete internationally and they perform well above your own players. Would you take it well?

But isn't it against the holy flame of Olympics if you don't allow a freakishly talented Yong Dae Lee to play badminton just because of your irrational fears?

I will also like @racketman123 to break his silence on this matter as well as other respected members.

Well its not against since bwf only allows applications from the respective country's association to apply for them. If KBA don budge . the only way we are seeing LSH LYD KKJ KSR YYS playing in their own uniform is when BWF flexes their rules. But i dont see it coming anytime soon. LYD did expressed a little interest into coming back to the national team but he has to wait for the try outs

Or they could play for another country! Which we know would never happen.
