Very unfortunate draws. I hate when the KO(s) are repeat of the group matches. Just very boring.. IND vs CHN, such an unfortunate way to end up an interesting campaign. Gonna be 3-0 but yeah it'll be really interesting to see how the spirited AP can deliver against the badminton powerhouse. It's killing me to think that they had positive chances against all other teams JPN (WS, XD, MS) TPE (XD, WD, MS (I believe in KS)) DEN (XD/WD, WS, MS) No point of sweating now, have to take what falls in your court. They might as well let PVS play WD to change the order of play, won't help much but at least won't be a 3-0
LOL, they had better start changing up or varying their style soon-- don't you know that we are living in the Information Age? Any World No.1 gets "video-analysed" to pieces in about 3 months; and sooner or later, people will find and/ or develop players who can employ a countering play-style... again, I don't think Kevin & Marcus are exactly naturals/ talents like Lee Chong Wei (or even Koo Kean Kiat) who will only find their nemesis in a few players.
Means the winner of CHN vs IND will face the winner of JPN vs MAS while winner of THA vs DEN faces winner of TPE vs KOR in the SEMIFINALS.
wasn't he injured before/during the olympics? he had that tape on his neck? i swear i read somewhere that he was injured and was going for an operation but i could be wrong...
The odds are still in favour of CHN defending the Sudirman Cup-- neither IND, JPN or MAS has a clear advantage over CHN-- either way, we are up for some interesting match-ups as the tournament progresses and fatigue sets in...
he would've lost other matches before tho and why did KGJ play on then... whatever the reason is for retiring i highly doubt it would be because of losing 1 match (even an olympic match) that would make them bad athletes lol
and Yeah, it happened at Olympic. And one can say Kim/Kim looks much stronger than Fu/Zhang to lose that match as well. and in case of Kevin/Gideon - Boe/Moe is still a 50-50 kind of match plus they are silver medalist as a pair.
Yes, he was strapped when he played Fu Haifeng-- but if that's an 'injury", then he needs to teach Kenichi Hayakawa his secret; because Hayakawa stumbled through his match with an injury and lost while Kim almost beat the daylights out of Fu Haifeng...
Also never sure about Koo Kien Keat/ Tan style. Are they blessed with that natural talent like Kevin/Gideon. They won about 8 SS so they are better than Goh/TanWeeKiong at their prime but to compare with Kevin/Gideon their style of mischiviousness?
i'm not excusing his performance lol i didn't even watch it i just thought he retired cause of an injury that needed an operation to fix it not cause he lost that match but again i could be wrong
Off Course kevin gideon have still only lost to BoeMoe this year. sure many more pairs can beat them but how many can beat them and end up winning SS(like BoeMo did in Singapore is what counts). Wont change the fact they already have 6SS and perfect final record..and that young guy kevin sanjaya sukamuljo will just make people jealous of what he already have - on the court. He is still such friendly guy outside No point playing in final to lose.
