Yes,Li Xuerui remains the first and only WS to cross the 100k mark in ranking points at WR1 in 2014 (?), and that with only 10 tournaments played until she was injured (at the French Open'14 against Wang Shixian in the final, iirc). I think Alan Y or someone can provide the statistics, if they would see fit.

In MS, LCW was the first and only one to do so. Not sure if Chen Long was the second MS to do so, in 2015, I think, his best year so far. That's also when Chen Long was voted BWF Male Player of The Year 2015.

Was LCW the only one or did Chen Long also get over 100 000 once?

I actually thought, if my memory is correct, LCW was the first one to cross the 100k mark, quite certain of that, then later followed by Chen Long when he climbed to WR1 in 2015.

IIRC, in 2015, Chen Long was in 9 finals out of 10 or 11 tournaments played, winning 7 of them. That's why he's awarded BWF Male Player of The Year 2015. Which is also why,I believe Chen Long has the capability to win a series of titles if he's determined to. Mind you,he clinched the MAS Open PSS in early 2015 beating of all person, Lin Dan, in the final; however,LCW was absent due to doping ban.

Thanks. Chen Long in 2015 racked up 101,031 points. Even Zhao Yunlei/Zhang Nan in XD also crossed the 100k mark at 102, 935 points.

Yes, he played extremely well at the Olympics, no doubt about that. But he was also quite fortunate that Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei 'killed' each other in the semis. Anyways, let's not get too off-topic. ;)

Just watching her in today's final - she is wearing Yonex clothes. The racquet still seems to be Victor.

I guess it's the same sponsor situation as it was at Rio '16 with Yonex being sponsor of the Chinese Taipei team. Did you have a look at the shoes? I bet they have allowed her to wear Victor shoes too this time.

By the way, congrats for winning the Asian Championships and still remaining undefeated in 2017. Unbelievable.

Congrats Tai Tzu Ying for winning the BAC and continuing her undefeated streak since late last year.
It is a shame that she will not compete in World Championship, but next year is still open.

Because she can't put a YY stencil on a Victor racket, and she can't promote Victor when she's officially sponsored by Victor.

I'm wondering how Victor is going to update their 5-in-a-row ad: http://www.victorsport.com/index.html

Kinda sad but I'm sure her Taiwanese supporters feel the same since Victor is a Taiwanese company supporting a Taiwanese player and she had to go through what she went through with the Yonex shoe kerfuffle at Rio OG.

Less deceptive shots and more straightforward shots, says TTY...

What! A master of deception is changing her style to play it safe?!?

What are impressionable young fans to think when their heroes abandon their trademark skills?
Inspired by TTY and by Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, I have been hitting every shot with double-action around-the-back. Guess now I'll have to jump on the 'bandwagon' of boring consistency.
