I was just checking TTY's and RI's head to head record for the upcoming All England final and could hardly recognize her on her tournamentsoftware picture... She's gotten very very slim/fit, even in the face.
Yeah, on that picture she's what, 15 years old? Definitely she carried some baby fat back then. Amazing to see the transition from a talented young girl then to a professional World #1 athlete now. So looking forward to that AE final today. Both seem to be in their best shape.
Interesting. At 9:30, she and her dad talk about stringing and why there's a cross missing. Can someone translate? Also obviously this was produced before Rio OG, so sad that she wasn't able to play well simply due to having to wear Yonex shoes which didn't fit her well. Anyways glad she came back and took the Dubai SS final and now the AE crown.
She is certainly the pride of Taiwan. I found this Indian article written about her; I thought this was a funny and amusing exposé on this young girl. i hope her head to head battles against Intanon will turn out to be epic like LD vs LCW. http://indianexpress.com/article/sp...tai-tzu-ying-china-rio-2016-olympics-2756785/
if TTY wins in World Championship 2017 in Glasgow, what national anthem will be played? sorry I never heard it before..
thanks i guess BWF might play that song in August. btw, is it called the "national" anthem of Chinese Taipei? or is it called something else?
It has to be seen if she will even participate in the WC '17. She said in the liked interview right after the Dubai final (around 1:50) that she wasn't sure yet since the WC clashes with the date of the World University Championships. Although it would be hard to imagine a true World Championship without the possible WR #1.
Don't worry, it was great to see RI beat Marin live at the AEs, I hate Marin. TTY played awesome all week and the final was no different, she has come a long way and definitely very consistent now, hence why she is the World No.1. Tai will skip WC for Universiade, already confirmed http://www.aiyuke.com/news/2017/01/n47202e8568c.html http://www.chinatimes.com/cn/newspapers/20170314000362-260111 some links in chinese, they already confirm this in January
Ouch. What must the Taiwan badminton association be thinking about that? Best chance of any Taiwanese to be a world champion. They messed up on the shoes issue for Olympics and now for world championships....
Yup, Badminton Live News also ran this. Tai Tzu will not play Badminton World Championship...Will snub the tournament.
