If LD was winning 20-5 in the bronze medal match and then lost 20-22, then perhaps I would agree it was a gift, otherwise , blah blah , yada yada

no matter how good you are, age would slow you down. but then it doesn't tarnish your career achievement, or how good you are before.
losing to a younger generation don't mean you are inferior to them.

for those fans of players in their 30s, keep on cheering them whenever they appear on the court. every match could be their last.

for those fans of players in their 20s, enjoy watching them play and reach their peak (with or without titles), before they turn old, and u start defending their achievement against new fans of the next generation.

Viktor is like some cartoon character, no offense. "The only person who can beat me is myself!"

Yes but mentality was only part of the reason.

He was frustrated, because a lot of what he tried out didn't work.

So there were three reasons :

Lin Dan significantly upped the game.

Victor was taken aback, and couldn't cope, which led to frustration.

    Victor had a weak mentality.

Viktor even has the audacity to accuse Lin Dan of tampering the shuttle to the umpire. My God! What a sore loser. Lin Dan should freaking sue his white ass for defamation and slander.

Hopefuly there are no team orders from CHN and let Shi Yuqi play freely against LD and perhaps we will see a new era, but after checking his results in this tournament, very unlikely. His opponents thus far are not the usual heavyweights.

    Thank you for perfect predictions.
If predictions don cost a thing, what stops everyone for making one. Have they been made laughing stock of too often. Do they lack badminton knowledge. Or they lack confidence.
    Were they abused as kids?!
Wait, I can gloat more ....

looks like Naoko Fukuman/Kurumi Yonao's status as japan 2nd best WD pairing could be threatened by Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota.

    • What an amazing fight by Akane !!! A real giant killer. Showed the resolve and physicality of a true champion, contorting her back again and again to get these high clears back from SY. She really thrives when under pressure! Won all her big matches of her career in three tight sets always coming back from behind in G3, always putting maximum pressure on the opponents to force the nervous mistakes while she remains calm. That's amazing <3
    • Very impressed by Intanon as well, she had a much better performance today and still a delight to watch. Marin really chocked up on two or three points in game three and that was enough for Ratchanok to come back.
    • Yuta/Arisa is becoming my favorite XD pair ever. They are incredible! A real new asset for the Japan team. And they play against my second favorite team Chan/ Goh
    • Japan WD really did not give a good fight in this QF. Takahashi/ Matsumoto would have surely cruised that match against the chinese pair. Seems like Fukushima/ Hirota gave everything yesterday and had not much left today. Still a very good run for the new Team A promoted japanese pair.
    • Wish SN vs SJH would have gone to three sets but not surprised that SJH won. SJH was the first real test for Saina N and she gave a good fight despite coming short in the end.
    • Unlucky for Jap MD, they wasted a chance to egalize at the end. GOH / TAN still struggling to defend against China Giants steep attack, lots of smash-point.

My worst predictions in MS and WS in years although most of the matches I predicted wrongly went the full distance.
A great credit to the two veterans LCW and LD who survived the onslaught, esp the latter.
Now it is a matter of whether they can perform as well in the SF.
Great that RI managed to prevail over CM. It must be one of her better performances. But disappointed to see her in-form compatriot TS, who earlier disposed of CL, being outlasted by the unpredictable CTC. Hope CTC will prove me wrong with another victory.
