well, here in india, the biggest sport is Cricket. yeah, cricket.

I'm crazy about this game too. However, I can't play this game well but love to watch it. India has got the cricket's living legend, Sachin Tendulkar. It's all bcoz of his charisma that all the ppl watch this game.

    sure...

like badminton, it's the game of physical fitness, technical soundness, mental toughness... pitch and climactic conditions play a huge role in cricket.

and unlike badminton, there are two versions of the game. One-day games last for 6-7 hrs and test matches last for 5 days... if the teams are balanced, then it's really gruelling 5 days for players... :D it's one of the deciding factors of its popularity. People feel fed-up with so loooooooong games...

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsman of all time, on par with Sir Donald Bradman, and this alone and not his charisma, has energised Indian passion for cricket. But India is not alone. Your neighbour, Pakistan, is equally mad about cricket. Politicians in both India and Pakistan have at times tried to ride on the coat-tails of the successes of their cricketers. If you mix Indian and Pakistan cricket together, like playing against each other in India or Pakistan, the two nations will come to a standstill. This is serious business.
I am surprised that you don't play cricket. It is saying you don't eat spices. Just joking, no insinuations of any sort intended.
I used to play cricket for my school and was quite a good batsman-lowest score a duck, highest 110. It is a beautiful sport, the 5-day match is a better game than the one-day match. Those were the days. :)

Hahaha~ the only reason I put them in alphabetical order was so I didn't accidently list the same thing twice. All my spare time was devoted to either athletics or studies. My father grew up in the old school traditional asian society so he didn't have any opportunities to play sports. So I guess he wanted me to make up for it! :D

Badminton totally owns me now though... :p

Used to play in soccer and basketball leagues. The latter one gave me permanent injuries, so I stopped. Played tennis before badminton, was pretty serious about it, but tennis wasn't very convenient. Can't play hockey for beans... Used to swim quite often, but ever since I took up badminton seriously, it seemed to occupy all my time... When I don't play it, I watch it, or I go on BC lol.

Badminton's taking up nearly all my spare time. Apart from that, there's golf (was kind of forced to take up the sport..if you call it a sport) and there's GO that I play. (A kind of board game that really needs a lot of thinking)

volley ball was my favourite kind of sport on secondary school time. i was also a school team member and my team had won a gold medal in the inter-school volley ball competition in 1985. at that time badminton was my second favourite!
today, it's different. it's difficult to form a volley ball team! so i turn myself back to badminton!
i also like cycling, table tennis and soccer!
